Phalaenopsis Diseases - The Result of Improper Care

The manifestation of diseases or defeat by pests is the result of a violation of the conditions for caring for phalaenopsis. If the plant is well-grown, it has well-developed roots, the regime of watering and feeding is observed, then you should not be afraid of diseases. Orchids overfed and temperamentally easily fall ill.

phalaenopsis disease
Most often, beginning gardeners are afraid of leaf wilting, which is provoked by inadequate watering and a high temperature of maintenance. These problems are related to noncommunicable diseases. They are solved quite simply - adjustment in the care and cutting of the affected sheet.

Phalaenopsis is watered similarly to other indoor plants, but trying not to fill the growth point. If water has got into the center of the outlet, then it must be removed, you can blow it out or get it wet with a napkin. If this is not done, then rot may develop. Orchid should be watered in the summer once every 2-3 days, in the winter - once a week with standing warm water, preferably boiled, and preferably distilled (the soil will not be salted). By immersing the pot in a basin of water, you can also water the phalaenopsis. The photo below demonstrates this process.

Phalaenopsis diseases will be divided into fungal, bacterial and viral.

Fungal diseases appear as spots, often with sporulation. For treatment, apply foundationazole.

Black rot is detected in the decay of the roots, less often the leaves. Damaged parts must be cut with a sterile tool, and the places of the cuts should be covered with ground cinnamon. Transplant the diseased instance into a new disinfected soil and isolate from others for the duration of recovery.

Fusarium rot begins with yellowing of the leaves with the acquisition of dark gray shades. The leaves become soft, loose, covered with spores of pink mushrooms. Affected leaves curl around the edges, the central shoot rots and dies. Treatment: by spraying and watering with foundationazole 0.2% three times a day. After 10 days, the procedure must be repeated.

Anthracnose appears as brown spots with black spots on the leaves and brown streaks on the edges of the leaves. The affected leaf becomes mosaic and dies. Control measures: remove affected areas, spray with fungicide 3 times at 10-day intervals, reduce watering.

Diseases of a phalaenopsis of a bacterial nature affect the plant with excessive watering, caused by phytopathogenic bacteria. They are usually accompanied by the formation of mucus. In severe cases, it is recommended to use human antibiotics, for example, tetracycline in a dosage of 500 mg per 1 liter of water. Treatments must be done at least 5 every 3 days. In the early stages of phalaenopsis disease, a single treatment with furacilin on the entire surface of the plant, including the soil, is effective. The tablet of the drug must be crushed, pour 500 ml of water, boil, cool the solution. If rot is found in the lower part, then the plant can be greased with brilliant green.

Often, phalaenopsis diseases are provoked by pests that are carriers of pathogenic flora. If pests are found, action should be taken immediately. Orchids are attacked by spider mites, scale insects, and worms. Actelik, actar, fitoverm will help to cope with them (the advantage of the latter, it is odorless).

Take good care of your pets, and they will delight you with a healthy look and long flowering, and subsequently, perhaps, children on peduncles.
