Not every owner of a country house has the luck to get a plot with a ready source of water. As a rule, take care of its production to ensure not only
immediate needs, but also comfortable living conditions have to yourself.
But far from any water source can meet the needs of a house “armed” with modern household appliances: showers, a dishwasher, a bathroom, etc. Yes, and on the site I want to have a pool or a bath, a decorative fountain, and drip irrigation in the garden.
Therefore, the most possible solution to the problems seems to be water production using a well. But before the well begins to provide a solution to economic problems, it is necessary not only to drill, but also to equip it.
Regardless of whether it is equipped with a caisson or an adapter, reliable sealing of the mouth is required. For this purpose, there is a special device - the head of the well. It provides a hermetic connection of the casing and pipelines on the surface of the site. In addition, a power cable passing through it feeds the pump motor, a pressure head pump pipe (32 or 40 mm), and a dry run control cable.
The head of the well is equipped with a carabiner for attaching a safety cable, which provides increased reliability of the pump suspension.
The sealing device is installed on the casing with a diameter of 107 to 152 mm, with a caisson inside it. Typically, the head is made of plastic or cast iron. The former are designed for a working load of up to 200 kg, while cast iron ones can withstand a suspended load weighing up to half a ton.
The head for the well consists of a flange, a sealing rubber ring and a cover, which is tightly attached to the flange during installation by four bolts with nuts and washers. In the center of the cover are a brass collet clamp, steel eyebolts and two cable entries. The lower eye bolt is used to secure the cable, and the upper bolts are sealed with a special cap nut.
It is not difficult to install the head on the well - welding is not required, since simple installation is carried out by the usual tightening of four bolts. They reliably compress the entire structure, and the rubber ring provides a tight seal.
Before installing the head, the casing is evenly cut, and strictly perpendicular to the vertical axis, the edges are carefully cleaned and covered with an anti-corrosion compound. Using the upper eyebolts, the pump is immersed with any lifting device.
The head of the well protects it from ground surface water, as well as from the ingress of random objects and clogging. It greatly simplifies the technical maintenance of the entire structure. In addition, the head of the well reduces the likelihood of equipment theft if special secret bolts are used.
