Do not believe the telling tales in the general chat: despite the benevolent tone, many of them are not averse to putting a bullet in your back to pick up all your things. And looting is just the same handy in big cities, where there are many secluded nooks. Who then can prove that?
However, subject to the availability of normal weapons and a partner, hardly anyone will attack you. Going against an armed group is more expensive. But if you are alone, and you have some kind of high-quality gear, a sniper will probably remove you. Just one shot - and you lose everything. Since playing DayZ is quite difficult, it will be very annoying.
By the way, recently in the game you can even restore your clothes! Get a sewing kit that will help you with this. Drag it to the damaged item of clothing, and then in the drop-down menu, select the appropriate action.
We are looking for the "right" gun!
If you read carefully, you already realized that without a weapon you cannot survive. At first some ax will come down, but you should find something more serious as soon as possible. Axes, hammers and even screwdrivers can be attributed to a relatively effective melee weapon. You can find all this in residential buildings and fire departments.
It must be said that firearms are the most effective. The game has a lot of it, for all tastes and preferences. In schools, most often you can find pistols, but sometimes the abode of knowledge can reward you with a Mosin rifle or even an M4A1. Be sure to check the roofs!
It is best to rummage through military bases where you can find almost all weapons samples, as well as barracks, as there is the most loot there. There is a base near the village of Pavlovo, as well as near Kamenka. In addition, there is a "Western military base." Be sure to check the base between Choice and Cabanino. Check also the airfield near Bolot, Krasnostava and Grishino. And yet all the buildings near the airfields, in which sometimes you can find a lot of useful things.
Among other things, it can be useful to search the train stations: weapons can rarely be found there, but there are bulletproof vests.
Take care of your weapons!
Theoretically, weapons in the game wear out due to heavy use. But how to play DayZ if you don’t have a working gun? You certainly won’t last long!
DayZ now has a wonderful cleaning kit, the Weapon Cleaning Kit. He can restore any gun up to the state of Worn. However, if it is repeatedly destroyed (Ruined), then with a set you will not succeed. It can be used several times at once, so you only need to buy it once to travel the game world for a couple of weeks.
Weapon disguise
With a relatively recent patch in DayZ Standalone, a very useful ability to paint weapons has appeared. To do this, you need spray cans, from a mixture of which you can get a camouflage color. To perform this action, you need to take the can from the inventory, and then drag it to the rifle. To get a camouflage color, you need to do this several times.
Important! If you color the Mosin rifle, it will not be possible to load more than one cartridge into it. The developers vow promise to fix the bug in the near future.
Medicines are “our everything”
Do not miss the chance to get as many first-aid kits and medicines as possible, even if these are simple bandages. Believe me, after meeting with walking corpses or bandits, you will almost always need medical attention. If you have nothing to stop the bleeding, then your character will definitely die.
It's a shame to get health problems due to some kind of game malfunction. If you don’t have painkillers but have a broken leg, it’s easier to nail your character right away than to crawl to the nearest hospital about twenty kilometers away. If you have morphine and stimulants, then you can probably get there.
Stuck in textures?
Remember what we talked about at the very beginning of the article? Yes, the game often reminds that the development is far from over. Since most of our users prefer playing DayZ pirates, problems are even more common.
For example, you can often get stuck right in the textures of houses. And you can stay there until the death of the character. We can give you some useful tips that often help to avoid such an unpleasant outcome.

- use running jumps;
- you can just run, leaning against the wall of the house closest to you;
- sometimes crawling with rifts helps;
- log out of the game server and log in again.
