Dimensions and application
Sheets of material can have different sizes, but most often they are made in lengths of 500, 1190, 2250, 3650 mm. At the same time, manufacturers are ready to cut products to individual order (up to 8 m). However, you should not purchase material longer than 4 m - there will be problems with transportation, storage and installation.
Metal "Norman" is used for pitched roofs with a minimum slope of 14 degrees. This limitation applies to roofs exposed to wind and snow loads. In the southern regions, it is possible to lay the material on more gentle coverings. You can mount it in any weather, since the protective layer will save from cracking. Mounting
The "Norman" metal tile is laid on the crate, which is fastened with screws to the rafters (roof trusses). The lathing can have a cross section of 25 x 100 mm, 32 x 100, 50 x 50 mm (depending on the pitch of the rafter structures), and is located with a step of 350 mm (coincides with the step of the waves).
Waterproofing is placed on top of the crate, which is placed with an overlap of at least 100 mm. The film is attached to the bars using a stapler, while leaving a small slack to remove moisture. It is not worth saving on it, otherwise the water will get into the under-roof space and cause rotting of the supporting structures and thermal insulation.
The first sheet is aligned in the end area and falls 40-50 mm below the edge of the hanging part of the rafters. Installation is best done from right to left. Then the second and each subsequent sheet will be placed on top of the previous one. After laying, each element is temporarily fastened with several screws.
After laying out all the sheets, the fasteners are screwed into the base of each wave. They are located across the row along the length of the building. It should be borne in mind that 8 self-tapping screws are needed per 1 m2 of coating. At the junction of the slopes, end planks are installed, and in the area of the ends - wind elements. Then they are fixed with screws every 400 mm.
