Horses began to be mentioned in chronicles about three thousand years ago. The ancient rulers in letters or oral messages transmitted through messengers certainly congratulated each other on the acquisition of a good horse or on the appearance of a thoroughbred offspring, foals. A purebred four-year-old horse was considered a particularly valuable gift. Dust particles were blown from him, and how the owner was proud of his trotter, riding on him, and it is impossible to convey. In a word, horses in ancient times were an integral part of the life of both noble gentlemen and ordinary people. Then the suits of horses were already distinguished; black and gray horses in apples were especially appreciated for riding.
At all times, horses were divided into thoroughbred and ordinary. Simple horses worked, they plowed the earth and drove loads, and thoroughbred participated in horse racing,
knightly tournaments and wars. Some horses became famous thanks to their famous owners. We will not list all of them, but we recall the horse named Bucephalus, because it was the horse of
Alexander the Great. A faithful war horse has lived a long life, and now his memory lives on; there is even a city named in his honor. Recall Rocinante, who was a devoted friend of Don Quixote Lamanchsky, served him faithfully. Rocinante also erected several monuments.
How many horse colors are impossible to calculate. Nevertheless, there are four main colors of horses: black, red, bay and gray. Each of them gives rise to secondary ones: kaurai and solovaya, piebald and bulanaya, karaka and chubarai. In addition to the suit, the horses differ in breed - there are about two hundred of them. We will not list all breeds of horses, but we will tell about some.
The first horse on the list is, of course, an Arabian horse. A true
Arabian horse has several distinguishing features: a slightly concave nose bridge, large wet eyes, like all oriental beauties. The main sign of purebred is the following: all horses of the Arabian breed in tail grip their tail very high. This breed is extremely viable, horses live up to 30 years and bring offspring even in old age.
The next famous breed is Akhal-Teke. Its history totals three thousand years. Akhal-Teke residents are incredibly hardy and playful. Their jumps are light and long. Appearance is characteristic:
slanting eyes, long ears and, in contrast to the concave nose bridge of
Arabian horses, a hump on the nose. The colors of the horses of this breed are very different, but bay prevails. Among the Akhal-Teke there is even an Olympic champion, a stallion Absinthe.
In 1946, a special breed of heavy horse was bred at the Vladimir stud farm. The Vladimir-Suzdal land required for plowing small but numerous plots and for horse-drawn transportation of strong, hardy horses. Selected local horses served as the maternal material, and the father’s gene pool was created from Scottish kledesdale, which, according to their data, are the best suited for breeding the Vladimir heavy truck.
The next world-famous breed is the famous Oryol trotter, a horse for light teams. He walks briskly at a trot, picturesquely arched his neck, indispensable on holiday trips. Can walk both indigenous and affiliated. On the go, light, fast and can trot more than a dozen kilometers. Bred by the most complicated combinations of crossing Arab, Danish, Dutch and Mecklenburg breeds. The colors of the Oryol horses are usually gray or gray in apples. In addition to the team, the Oryol trotter can serve as a beautiful riding horse. He has a lively temperament, but obeys the bridle.
