Choosing a perfectly fitting bra is not an easy task. But it is complicated many times if you buy linen not from a domestic manufacturer, but from Italy, China or Australia. In all these countries, women's underwear has its own dimensional grid. It is sometimes difficult to choose a bra.
How to determine your size
Before you look for a suitable size in the underwear store, you should accurately determine your parameters. If you know them, then it will not be difficult for you to find your perfect bra.
You probably know that usually the sconce size has a numerical and literal value, for example 75 V or 80 C, but we will tell you in more detail what it means:
- letters indicate the size of the cup;
- figures - on the volume under the breast.
The convenience of the laundry you purchase depends on the correct measurement of these data. Therefore, put on a soft, tight-fitting bra without foam and voluminous details. Stand up evenly, exhale and tightly, but not squeezing, press a centimeter tape to the body, measure the volume under the chest. Next, measure the volume of the chest at the most prominent points in the same way, pressing the tape tightly, but not crushing the chest. These data will help you choose clothes in any size grid.
European dimensional grid
The bra will not have the same size in all countries of Europe, despite the fact that the system is called European. For example, in England or Italy the sizes of bras are different. However, the European system is widely accepted in Russia, for example, the Tribuna dimensional grid corresponds to it. The bra of this domestic brand will fit perfectly if you take the measurements correctly and choose the size.
The easiest way is to use the pivot table to determine the size. In the top line, find the value closest to your volume under your chest. In the column below it, find the numerical interval that your breast volume falls into. In the left column you will find the letter corresponding to your cup. So, for example, your measurements - 75 cm under the breast and 92 breast volume, then your size is C.
Below you will find a dimensional grid of “Infinity” bras, it is fully consistent with the European system.
Use this approach to select Russian, German and Belarusian underwear. For example, the Milavitsa dimensional grid corresponds to the same system.
Bra from England or USA
In these countries, a common system of sizes of women's underwear is adopted. It starts with the number 30 and ends in size 52. The step between each is 2 centimeters.
The sizes of the cups in the English and American nets are in many respects similar to the Russian ones. Differences start with larger sizes. So, Russian E is D, and F in general can have different markings. These differences can be clearly seen in the table where this dimensional grid is presented.
A bra of the same size will be in Ukraine, so look for Ukrainian-made underwear of the same size as English and American.
Underwear of Chinese manufacturers
The popularity of Chinese shopping is growing inexorably, and the price of underwear from the Middle Kingdom is undoubtedly more attractive than European brands, with decent quality goods. However, the Chinese bra mesh has its own characteristics. Russia and our sizes differ slightly from it, although it is important to consider this when choosing.
So, the smallest cup is marked A, like our AA, and then all sizes are shifted by one letter. It is also worth considering that usually the maximum size of the Chinese cup is E, which corresponds to the Russian D. It is also possible to mark in Latin letters, as in the international grid from S to XXXL, however here S is the smallest size, an analogue of the European XS.
Italian bra sizes
As we already noted, Italy has its own system for measuring the size of the bra, where the volume under the breast is marked not in centimeters, but in numbers from 1 to 12. Since Italian underwear is very popular with Russian women, it makes sense to find out your size in this grid.
To do this, you need to calculate the difference between your chest circumference and the circumference under the chest, and then divide the resulting figure by 6. This will be the first part of the size. The Italians also have letter sizes for cups, but differ from Russian ones. In Russia, sizes are labeled from AA to G, and in Italy from A to F, and our smallest AA does not offer the Italian dimensional grid at all.
Bra in other underwear sizes
In addition to the above systems, there are others that are less common in the Russian market. However, they can be useful to those who love online shopping or shopping in different countries.
So, there is an international system of sizes of linen, denoted by letters, similar to how clothes are measured. The sizes of bras start with XS, which corresponds to a chest volume of 63-67 cm. The largest size XXXXL is 122 cm.
In Australia, as in England, a step between the sizes of 2 centimeters was taken, but the smallest in their grid is 8, and the largest is 30.
To determine your size when buying, you can use the tables or special converters that automatically translate your measurements into the desired dimensional grid.
We also note the possibility of fitting parallel sizes. These are such bras, the size of which in one direction is one step different from yours. For example, a cup may be slightly larger, and the volume under your chest may be slightly less than yours, or vice versa. Sometimes this size may be more comfortable than what exactly fits your parameters. However, it is better to choose such parallel options only after trying, otherwise you risk not getting into the size you need at all.
