Formal wear: how to choose, try on and fit

Psychologists and specialists working with them have determined that more than eighty percent of people in 20-30 seconds after meeting a person managed to make up their own opinions about him. That is why formal wear is so important for establishing working relationships, negotiating, concluding important transactions and signing contracts.

It would seem that all business suits are sewn to certain standards and official clothes are practically not subject to fashion trends, but in fact this is not so and every woman or man can choose a suit, pants, shirt, vest to his liking. Despite this, even going to an important event or business meeting, you can look stylish, but at the same time with a dress code.

Remember that in a business style, all clothes are kept in soothing colors, a suit, shirt, shoes, and even a handbag or folder with documents, accessories should be in harmony with each other. You should not buy clothes of bright, conspicuous tones - it is able for a long time, if not forever to spoil your reputation. At the same time, if you can boast of an ideal taste, a variant with costumes of bright shades, for example, red, is possible. If you have already allowed yourself such courage, accessories should be completely discreet and can only complement the headsets.

When choosing business suits for women, remember that there should be at least a few, while being designed to be worn for various occasions. So, it is unacceptable to wear a pantsuit for an official meeting in an office or another room for women. In addition to violating the unwritten, but rather firm rule of etiquette, you will also lose weight in the eyes of colleagues, because a girl who looks like a man immediately loses credibility.

Formal wear for women does not include short skirts called mini skirts. Yes, in the books on business etiquette in the chapter on the dress code you can find the concept of β€œmini”, but here we are talking about skirts whose length is not higher than the knees. The same can be said about such a decoration on a skirt as a cut. If, nevertheless, the desire to make this garment is slightly more diverse than the usual β€œpencil” style, it is quite permissible to replace it with a beautifully draped fold.

Many women are puzzled by the question: what is better for them to choose a skirt suit or dress. Specialists studying the office dress code say that the dress is appropriate only within your own office, so if you do not have business meetings planned, you can safely wear a dress. Only in this case it should be remembered that the style of the office outfit should be modest, the sleeves should not be shorter than three quarters, and the color is solid, in a small square or strip.

Together with the dress, formal wear often involves wearing a jacket. This detail in color can vary significantly from the dress, thereby emphasizing your impeccable appearance. Remember that the jacket should be relatively loose in order to cover all the seductive curves of the figure - you are at work, not a date.

Business fashion allows you to choose almost any shape of the neckline on a dress or jacket. The only thing to keep in mind is that the neckline should be shallow.

Choosing clothes for the stronger sex is much simpler: men's business suits have standard styles. Variety in the image is made by wearing ties of various styles and colors, as well as shirts. Please note that even in summer, business style prescribes wearing long-sleeved shirts, and if you are at an informal meeting in your own company and you feel hot, you can twist the sleeves. But in the conditions of business negotiations it is categorically impossible to do this - you have to endure. Fortunately, this situation is extremely rare, because in most modern offices air conditioners are installed.
