What are hydraulic pullers? These are devices used to dismantle various parts and assemblies that are pressed in by their outer and inner diameters and have an interference fit. Often, these devices are equipped with two or more often three “legs” (supports) made of high-strength carbon steel. Moreover, to achieve greater hardness and strength, these tools undergo additional heat treatment.
What can they do?
Today, hydraulic pullers can dismantle such parts as:

- propellers;
- pivots;
- pulleys;
- bushings;
- couplings;
- flanges;
- gears ;
- railway wheels and rims of heavy vehicles, including truck tractors ;

Varieties
There are four main types of hydraulic drive devices:
- Devices with an integrated pump.
- With remote pump.
- Hydraulic puller clamp type.
- Universal devices.
Let's start with pullers with an integrated hydraulic pump. Their principle of operation is as follows. A pump built into the puller housing drives a hydraulic cylinder with a metal rod mounted at the end. The latter, in turn, sets in motion special grips, as a result of which the necessary part is removed. For such a puller, the hydraulic price is very diverse - about 5,000 - 30,000 rubles, depending on the characteristics of the carrying capacity, diameter and grip depth.
Devices with a remote pump have in their design an additional special high-pressure hose, which can be designed for pressures up to 70 MPa. This mechanism may have different lengths depending on the level and volume of work performed. Due to its small size, it is often used in hard-to-reach places. Technical specifications are almost identical to the previous version with an integrated pump.
Clamp type hydraulic pullers are used in cases where it is necessary to remove a hard-to-remove part, that is, devices with a standard grip that cannot be removed. Moreover, these tools can work with devices with diameters from 3.5 to 42 centimeters. The maximum force applied to the part used is simply colossal - up to 35 tf!
The last type is universal hydraulic pullers. Their kit can include both grips and a clamp. They are used most often for the dismantling of impellers, pulleys, gears and other devices fitted with an interference fit. As a rule, the use of this hydraulic puller allows you to dismantle the part without any damage that can provoke all of the above devices.
