In the spring of 2016, a very unusual art exhibition opened near the glorious city of Kaluga. This is a garbage museum in the Kaluga region, which is today the first and only in all of Russia. Modern man produces an incredible amount of garbage daily. Some craftsmen try to make

The idea of creating an artistic trash space came from the Büro creative design team. Creative people often leave some junk material for new creations. This happened in this case. Designers only thought about garbage disposal, having accumulated a whole hangar of various interesting things that are “a pity to throw away”. The solution to this problem was creative: turn the trash warehouse into a collection of art objects. That is how the garbage museum appeared in the Kaluga region.

To date, the museum's collection consists of more than a hundred original exhibits. These are useful household items and art objects. The authors of the project themselves call their garbage museum in the Kaluga region affectionately: “MU MU” - an abbreviation from the first letters of the full name. The exposition covers an area of 1000 meters
2 and is divided into thematic zones. The pride of the collection is the work of famous designers. These are Nirit Levav Packer, Tatyana Ovchinnikova, Stanislav Gomzikov, Leonty Ozernikov and many others. In the neighborhood with the works of recognized masters, one can observe crafts of ordinary people who are engaged in creative work from waste material. The Garbage Museum in the Kaluga Region has a work schedule that is quite convenient for guests. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can visit the exhibition from 11.00 to 17.00. Advance booking is not required; tickets can be purchased at the entrance. Individual or group excursions can be booked on a weekday by personal arrangement with the administration of the museum.
