Belarus is famous for its fabulous natural resources and extraordinary hospitality. That’s what all the guests are offering from the first minutes of their stay at the Lettsi sanatorium (Vitebsk region). To some, it may seem simple, as if returning to us from past Soviet times. It's true. The furniture here is simpler, there are no spa salons, ultramodern simulators and other frills. But the treatment base is quite decent, the doctors are professional, the whole staff is friendly and welcoming. So if you are going for health and good mood, you are right here.
Location
Extremely beautiful Belarus. Sanatorium “Lettsi” (“Letets”), founded in 1936, is located in the shade of centuries-old pines and firs almost on the very shore of the lovely Lake Shevino, which is a minute on foot. From Vitebsk, the health resort is only 20 km away. The ancient city of Polotsk is also nearby. It is 85 km or about an hour along a quite decent asphalt road. It’s a bit far from Minsk to “Lettsov” (275 km), but many prefer to come to the sanatorium by car. Within 100 km is the city of Orsha, where everyone can go on an excursion, and after driving 180 km from the health resort, you can get to Mogilev. The nearest settlement, near which there is a sanatorium, is Malye Lettsi. This is a small village, near which there is another picturesque lake - Lettsi. In it and in Shevino there are a lot of fish (pike, roach, crucian carp, etc.). Several rivulets also flow here, so the area is really worthy of the most enthusiastic words. For lovers of walking 300 meters from the Lettsi sanatorium, there is the Zheleznodorozhnik recreation center, the services of which are allowed to be used by everyone (for an additional fee), as well as several children's health resorts such as pioneer camps. There are also interesting shows and fun programs, which are not forbidden to attend.
Sanatorium "Flying": how to get
You can get to the place by rail or road. By passenger trains or bus you can get to Vitebsk. Further on a diesel engine (runs frequently) or an ordinary regular bus, you should go to the village of Malye Lettsy, from where it is literally six to seven minutes walk to the sanatorium along the road through the forest.
The second option is train No. 39 Moscow-Polotsk. On it you can get directly to the station "Lettsy". There you should walk a little along the platform and the territory of Zheleznodorozhnik. You will reach the sanatorium literally in 10 minutes.
By car you need to go to Vitebsk. Next, go to the P20 highway and follow it to the Shevino sign, then turn left, pass the village, turn right and, guided by the Letts sign, get to the sanatorium.
In addition, it is possible to pre-order a separate transfer, the services of which also include assistance with luggage. Motor transport is provided by the sanatorium administration on any day, including holidays and weekends.
What and how is treated here
"Flying" is a sanatorium (Vitebsk region), which specializes in the treatment and prevention of diseases of the following organs and systems:
- lungs, bronchi, other respiratory organs;
- Gastrointestinal tract;
- heart, blood vessels;
- bones, joints, muscles;
- nervous system.
Also, vacationers are offered cosmetic skin and face care.
The work uses the methods of traditional and alternative medicine, which is famous for the "Flying" (sanatorium). Reviews of people who have been treated here are overwhelmingly positive. Almost everyone gratefully recalls doctors, nurses, the organizer of gymnastics and many other employees of the institution.
If desired and necessary, everyone can turn to doctors (therapist, cardiologist, ultrasound diagnostician, physiotherapist). In the sanatorium, you can also take blood and urine tests (general).
Sapropelic muds from the Belarusian lake Sudoble and sulphide silt from the Crimean lake Saki are used for therapeutic procedures.
Water is used from a well with a depth of 850 meters (for bathtubs) and 420 meters (for drinking). Mineral baths have a healing effect in some skin diseases. The health resort accepts those who wish for rest and treatment all year round.
Infrastructure
The Lettsi sanatorium (Vitebsk region) covers an area of about 36 hectares. All buildings are picturesquely located in a pine-spruce forest. The air, saturated with the smell of pine needles, gives everyone who comes here additional free herbal medicine and a wonderful mood every day. Along the asphalt paths, many berries grow (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and others, which are rich in Belarusian land). Paths are also available at a certain distance in the forest outside the territory of the sanatorium. Many vacationers observed squirrels freely moving through the trees. There are benches and gazebos for relaxation. Going deep into the forest is not recommended, as meetings with vipers are possible.
Arriving by car can use the paid parking lot, but it is located outside the health resort.
Five dozen meters from the sanatorium there is a wonderful lake with a beach and a boat rental station, catamarans. The pond is decorated with water lilies and lilies. Ducks and swans swim in it, who willingly take food directly from their hands. In the summer, swim in the lake. They also catch fish all year round.
In addition, the Lettsi sanatorium has a medical building, a hydropathic center, a pump room with mineral water, a cultural center, a post office with long-distance telephones, a kiosk where newspapers are sold, and a playground. A small grocery store is located next to the entrance. Another store is located at the train station.
Accommodations
The Lettsi sanatorium (Belarus), designed for 500 people, provides its guests with 5 buildings with different designs and living conditions. Building number 1 is two-story, the second and fifth are four-story, and the third and fourth buildings have three floors. There are no elevators. The rooms are available for one and two rooms, designed for one or two people. By agreement, it is possible to install an extra bed (for example, if parents with a child have come to rest). Room size is not the same. Depending on the location of the rooms in some, it is always light and sunny, in others, most of the day is a shadow. The building №4 was renovated, the rest - solid cosmetic repairs. Each room has heating, a large mirror, a necessary set of furniture (beds, bedside tables, wardrobes), a hygienic room with a toilet, washbasin and shower. Carpeted on the floor , beautiful curtains on the windows. No toiletries provided. Balconies or loggias and televisions are available only in suites. Also, not every room is equipped with a refrigerator, which not all vacationers who visited the Lettsi sanatorium (Vitebsk region) like it. People leave various reviews about living conditions, but the majority mentions the absence of refrigerators, since they have to store purchased food in bags outside the window. One of the buildings is allocated to accommodate children (as a pioneer camp). This does not deliver inconvenience to vacationers.
Cleaning (garbage removal, vacuum cleaning) is carried out regularly. Beds are made by vacationers on their own.
There are no warm transitions between buildings, as well as between medical buildings.
Nutrition
The Lettsi sanatorium has a separate building of the dining room, in which there are two halls for daily service of vacationers and a banquet hall. Meals are organized diet and by orders that are taken from the second day of stay.
Diet D is designed for people with diabetes and impaired carbohydrate-fat metabolism. The menu includes dishes with a minimum salt content.
Diet B is intended for people whose nutrition does not require any special restrictions. Dishes of this diet contain a complete set of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Only indigestible products are excluded.
Diet H is designed for those suffering from liver and kidney diseases. The menu contains dishes with a low protein content (not more than 40 grams per day).
Diet P is intended for patients with diseases of the pancreas, liver and gastrointestinal tract. The menu includes steam and boiled dishes. Coarse fiber and spices are excluded.
The Lettsi sanatorium (Vitebsk) also provides vacationers with mineral water, which can be bottled and drunk throughout the day.
Meals are organized three times a day. Salads and juices are served on a buffet basis. All dishes are deliciously prepared. One vacationer, they said, was quite enough food. Some even thought that too many side dishes were offered, consisting of various cereals, potatoes. Other vacationers complained that they were not full. Such people can buy additional products at a nearby store. In addition, locals (seasonal) sell freshly picked berries at the entrance to the dining room.
The menu always has soups, meat, fish, dairy and vegetable dishes, tea, coffee, juices, all kinds of salads, sweets.
Procedures
Those who come to the Lettsi sanatorium must have a spa card or an extract from a hospital card of form No. 1. All procedures are assigned individually, but upon request, you can get additional ones (for money). Each building has its own doctor.
The procedures are carried out in a two-story medical building and in a one-story hydropathic center. Vacationers are offered:

The offices work by appointment, but sometimes, according to people who have been here, it is not necessary to stand in a live queue for long.
Leisure activities
Rich and interesting history is famous for Belarus. The Lettsi sanatorium organizes excursions for its guests in Vitebsk, Polotsk with a visit to an organ music concert in the cathedral. Many vacationers remembered visiting the relics of the great Euphrosyne of Polotsk, which, according to legend, helps all the afflicted.
In the sanatorium itself, concerts of folk groups, karaoke, discos are often arranged, there is a cinema hall where films of past years and modern paintings are shown. For everyone, the doors of the library and rental are open. Near the recreation center "Zheleznodorozhnik" you can use (upon reservation) a spa complex, which includes a pool with a fountain, a sauna, a jacuzzi, a tea room, showers with music, a gazebo with barbecue facilities and outdoor furniture. There is no swimming pool in the sanatorium.
Fans of fishing can take up their favorite hobby without any restrictions.
In summer, many berries appear on the territory of the sanatorium and around it, and in the autumn mushrooms. In winter, you can go skating and skiing. On New Year's holidays, a tree is arranged in the sanatorium.

This health resort is designed for people who want to heal their health with high quality and at a relatively low price. For the most part, the contingent here is represented by mothers with children, senior citizens or people of pre-retirement age. There are practically no youth. Those who expect a lot of fun and entertainment from this health resort are not completely satisfied, because the Lettsi sanatorium (Vitebsk region) does not provide a variety of entertainment programs and incendiary animation. Reviews of people are mostly unanimous about the well-organized treatment, which is mentioned as one of the main advantages. Also among the advantages vacationers mention the following:

- professional staff;
- the optimal combination of price and quality of rest;
- the ability to independently choose treatment procedures;
- beautiful territory - well-groomed, clean, green;
- the proximity of the city;
- proximity to the train and bus stations.

- the location of the guarded parking lot outside the territory;
- disorganized currency exchange (for non-citizens of Belarus): experienced vacationers advise changing money directly at the railway station, not hoping for a sanatorium exchange office, which works only on Monday and only a few hours;
- noise and dirt from local residents coming to the lake (there is no entry ban for them);
- lack of comfort in individual rooms (there is no curtain in the shower, so everything around is poured with water);
- lack of basic electrical appliances in the rooms;
- closure of buildings strictly at 11 pm.
