A little later, the coat acquired a slightly different meaning. Its creators began to think not only about comfort and heat preservation, but also about its aesthetics. No less popular is the balmacaan, so named after the hunting grounds in Scotland. This model, as a rule, assumes a short collar, raglan sleeves and an open fastener. It is noteworthy that these types of women's coats are usually created from tough wool.
A pea coat is a double-breasted (less often single-breasted) coat with a warm lining and a stylish turn-down collar. In addition, these models have neat patch pockets. By the way, initially such clothing was exclusively with sailors. They allowed to close the neck during a strong wind, and pockets served to transport various tools.
What types of coat silhouettes are there?
Any woman planning to purchase a coat dreams of finding a model that will ideally sit on her figure. However, for this it is necessary to choose one of three silhouettes that correspond to growth, build and style.
