Odessa: Chernomorka (Lustdorf) - former German colony

Odessa in recent years has gained a reputation as one of the most expensive Black Sea resorts in Ukraine. But even with a small budget, you can relax in its suburbs. One of them is the Odessa-Chernomorka region, which is now officially called Lustdorf. Clean water, unique steppe air, orchards and vineyards nearby, inexpensive fruits and cheap accommodation will allow you not only to have a good rest here, but also to heal. And the fact that nearby are the final stops of Odessa minibuses, provides an opportunity to literally for a penny end up in the center of the "pearl by the sea" and plunge into its amusement.

Odessa Black Sea

History

This is one of the most interesting places in the city of Odessa. Chernomorka is the name of Soviet times. And before the Germans lived here. The village was founded at the beginning of the nineteenth century by immigrants from the city of Württemberg and built it according to all the traditional canons of their lands - with good roads, a church, a school and a theater. On Ukrainian chernozems, they grew good crops and lived happily ever after. The famous town governor Duc de Richelieu called the village Lustdorf - “a merry village”. And since it was inconvenient to get to Odessa here, the German colonists conducted the first electric tram to the 16th station of the Big Fountain. After the establishment of Soviet power, the inhabitants of Lustdorf began to have problems - dispossession, repression. And during the war, all the colonists were forcibly evicted.

Black Sea beach Odessa

Beach "Chernomorka" (Odessa)

It is located between the famous cargo port in the former Illichivsk and the Cape of the Big Fountain, on which the Holy Assumption Monastery is located. Since this is one of the few places where there are almost no fortifications, the Black Sea waves freely wash the shore. Although the beach looks a bit neglected, there are a lot of cafes, including inexpensive, as well as standard water sports. There are areas with sun loungers and umbrellas, merchants come with corn, pies and cold drinks. Lustdorf beach is cheaper than Odessa can offer. Black Sea is also a favorite place for fishermen. Not only bulls are found here, but also flounder, as well as gloss.

Bases, sanatoriums, private sector

Back in Soviet times, these places were defined as a climatic resort. Therefore, mainly children’s and pulmonary sanatoriums were built here. Now many of them are in decline, but new mini-hotels and small recreation centers are being built. But one of the children's sanatoriums acquired the status of national and specialized - this is Lustdorf. An elite cottage village called “Sauvignon” was also built. It also has entire recreation complexes with all modern conditions for comfort. In these places, many residents of the city have cottages. These people are very enterprising, as well as hospitable - otherwise it would not be Odessa. Chernomorka is used by Odessa residents for renting houses and rooms.
