Many beginning craftswomen believe that knitting socks is the most difficult thing in this needlework. And really, there are so many ways to create them: from the toe, elastic, from the sides ... And how many options are there knit heels ?! Any needlewoman can get confused. So how to knit socks with needles?
Standard circuit
In the classic version, knitting comes with a gum on four knitting needles. You can take any pattern : for kids 1x1, for adults 2x2, for a denser knit, choose an English pattern. Make an elastic band of the required length so that the sock does not fly off your leg. Then the front surface is knitted another 3-5 centimeters for the descent to the heel.
Now from the two knitting needles from the ends we transfer 2 loops to the remaining ones and knit the heel up with the front and back patterns. For the sides, their number is better divided into 3 knitting needles, where the middle does not change, and the decrease is due to the side.
Then the initial number of loops is recruited. In work, we return the needles left (in front of the heel) and knit socks with knitting needles with the front surface to the little finger. Next is a four-fold reduction, until through the remaining loops you tighten the thread. Many beginners are afraid of knitting heels. But if you knit a sock for the first time in the classical pattern, then you can master other methods of knitting.
Custom Knitted Knitting Socks
With schemes of unusual socks, or rather with the search for them, there will be no difficulties. The main thing is to decide what type of product you want to associate.
- From the toe. These socks are knitted from the fingers, having typed the desired number of loops (this line is then sewn together). Here the heel has a different method of formation, and all other parts are created as in the classical version.
- Off the heel. In this embodiment, the pattern is diamond-shaped. The fact is that the heel is knitted square (then it is sewn together), and then there is the addition of loops for the foot and lower leg. The pattern is unusual, but how comfortable to wear, you need to try it yourself.
- Whole. Knit socks on the sides! The classic two-spoke design. It turns out the finished "flattened" product, which remains only to sew.
- From the middle. Many craftswomen do not bother, but simply knit a foot, from the ends of which the toe and heel of the product are tied.
- Motives. The needlewomen create new models of socks from squares, which are connected according to a certain pattern with each other.
How to knit simple and unusual socks for beginners?
The simplest thing is to experiment with yarn not only in color, but also in texture. See which patterns will come from “blades of grass,” “sequins,” “cones,” and other types of thread. If we knit classic socks, just add embroidery, crochet or decorative ornaments. The main thing is to create not only unique things, but also convenient ones!
A variety of knitting methods can only confuse beginners. Imagine better the originality of the product in colors and a non-standard pattern. For example, everyone is accustomed to the “winter” warm models with alternating gum and smooth surface. Then surprise those around you with an openwork "summer" pattern, braids, bumps or a pattern of owls.
To keep things on the foot, we measure them at each stage. When knitting socks with needles, this is especially important. For example, they tied an elastic band with a heel, tried them on, then knitted four rows and tried them on again to reduce the number of foot loops if necessary.
