Swing check valve to prevent backflow

To prevent the opposite flow of a certain medium in the pipeline, a check valve was invented, the working disk of which rotates around its own axis. Usually it is installed directly after the pumping equipment, providing protection against water hammer. This type of device is used more widely than other analogues of check valves. It is understood that in the reverse flow of the working medium, a special plug is lowered under the influence of its own mass. Most often, the check valve is mounted on the horizontal parts of the pipes, but it is quite realistic to install it on vertical pipelines. Unlike other types, it tolerates contaminated water much better. The structure of this device includes several elements: body, cover, shutter, seat and stem with a flywheel. On the one hand there is a special hole in the housing into which fluid enters. After the water enters, the stem moves the shutter, closing or opening the seat hole. Passing it, the liquid exits from the other side. Installation of check valves is carried out taking into account the direction of fluid movement. The device should be easily accessible for maintenance.
