- Take the colored cardboard. For one monkey you will need two colors.
- Cut one big circle.
- From a cardboard of a different color, cut a heart, an oval and two circles. In size, they should be smaller than the main circle.
- Glue the parts as shown in the picture above.
- Draw the eyes and mouth.
Make a few different color monkeys for each gift.
We make a monkey from socks
To make such a monkey, you will need:
- pair of socks;
- scissors;
- marker or chalk;
- needle and thread;
- buttons
- filler.
Further actions are as follows.
- Take one pair of socks. The longer they are, the larger the monkey will be. For the New Year, it is pleasant to give gifts made with your own hands, and this toy is no exception. It is desirable that the socks of the heel and toes differ in color with the main part. From one sock you get the body, legs and head, and from the other - paws, tail, muzzle and ears.
- Turn both socks inside out.
- Put one of them with the heel down and level it (picture 1).
- In the middle, draw a horizontal line from the socks. It should end in a centimeter from the heel (picture 2).
- Sew a few stitches as shown in picture 3.
- Cut the toe between the stitches made before (picture 4).
- Turn the product over and stuff it with filler (for example, cotton, sintepon, shreds of fabric and so on).
- Form the body and sew the sock. Do not forget to stitch the monkey’s head (picture 5).
- Take the second sock and draw on it other details of the monkey’s body: hands, ears, muzzle and tail (picture 6).
- Cut out all the parts except the muzzle and sew them together. Places where the elements will be attached to the body, do not sew.
- Fill the parts with filler.
- Sew the details to the body (Pictures 7 and 8).
- Sew the muzzle and put some filler inside (picture 9).
- Attach the eyes (e.g. buttons) and embroider the mouth with stitch.
This is how the monkey turned out (do it yourself!). For the New Year, the gift is ready!
Knitted toy
Do-it-yourself monkey knitting for the New Year is easy. To do this, you need to take:
- yarn of medium thickness;
- knitting needles No. 3;
- filler (e.g. sintepon);
- eyes (finished or buttons).
Operating procedure:
- Tie your head. To do this, dial 17 loops and knit 50 rows of stitch. Then close the hinges. Fold the resulting part in half and sew on the sides, while slightly rounding the upper corners. Do not stitch the head below.
- Tie the muzzle together. Collect 15 loops and knit 24 rows of stitch. Sew in the same way as the head.
- Type 8 stitches on the knitting needles and knit 16 rows of stitch. Sew the part in the same way as the face and head. As a result, you got an ear. Do one more in the same way.
- Tie your legs. To do this, dial 17 loops and knit 50 rows of stitch. If you want to get a striped monkey, then alternate through several rows of color yarn. When one leg is ready, set aside the loops and tie the second part in the same way. Then connect the loops of the two elements and continue knitting the body. To do this, dial another 40 rows. Close the hinges.
- Type 15 loops on the knitting needles and knit 50 rows of stitch. Close the loops and sew the part like a head. Make one more detail. You got your hands.
- Dial 11 tail loops and knit 50 rows. Sew the part.
- Fill all parts except the ears with filler and sew them together.
- Sew on the eyes and embroider the mouth.

Salt Dough Monkey
Such monkeys with their own hands for the New Year (photo above) can easily be made together with children from puff pastry.
For this you will need:
- 2 cups of flour;
- 1 cup finely ground salt;
- 120 ml of cold water;
- wallpaper glue.
Operating procedure:
- Dissolve glue in water. The resulting mixture should resemble liquid sour cream.
- Mix flour with salt.
- Pour the liquid into the flour and mix everything with a whisk or mixer. As a result, you should get a plastic dough.
- From the finished dough, fashion the details of the monkey: paws, head, body, ears, muzzle elements.
- Connect all the details. Fashion a muzzle. Add decorative elements (such as a Christmas scarf).
- Let the figurine dry. To do this, put it on the battery for two days or for an hour or two in the oven.
- Paint the figure with acrylics or gouache.
- Let the paint dry and then varnish the monkey.
