Tomato 'Nastenka' - a popular early ripe variety

Tomato "Nastenka" is loved by gardeners because it is an early ripe variety that provides their families with ripe fruits at the very beginning of summer. From the moment of sowing the seeds to the ripening of the first fruits, only 80 days pass. Such precocity brought these tomatoes a special popularity. This variety is remarkable in that it is able to bear fruit in almost any weather conditions. Tomatoes "Nastenka" with the same success can be cultivated both in greenhouses under the film, and in open land.

Bushes of this variety have a compact shape. In open ground, they rarely grow above 70 cm, although in greenhouse conditions they often reach 90 cm. Tomato "Nastenka" is also attractive because it no longer needs to be planted when planted. The bushes of this tomato are erect, shtambovye, do not need additional supports. This variety is semi-determinant. Their first inflorescence appears above the 9-12 leaf of the main shoot. On the lateral shoots, inflorescences are located above the 3-5 leaf. The late formation of the first inflorescences determines the later period of fruit ripening. Subsequent inflorescences are located through the next 2-3 leaves. The whole bush fruits evenly throughout the growing season. The main stem stops growing after 10-12 inflorescences are formed. This standard variety is distinguished by very stable, highly leafy, non-obstructing and slightly branching stems. It has short internodes and dark green leaves with corrugated edges.

Tomato "Nastenka" is a highly productive variety. On one bush there can be a lot of ovaries, therefore, as ripening, ripe fruits should be regularly collected, thereby allowing the next to ripen. A distinctive feature of these tomatoes is their increased resistance to many diseases, and especially to late blight.

The fruits that the Nastenka tomato variety produces are round-elongated, very reminiscent of the shape of sweet pepper. The color of the fruit is very beautiful pink. They are fleshy, juicy, and have excellent taste and a rather large mass - up to 300 g. With good care, the weight of the fruit increases significantly, so often it reaches 400 g. They are resistant to cracking. It is believed that Nastenka tomato is the best in taste of all varieties with pink fruits. Most often, these tomatoes are used for the preparation of salads and main dishes, although they are fully suitable for further processing. A variety of sauces, tomato juice and other winter preparations are prepared from them. The smallest fruits are suitable for whole-canning and pickling.

Tomato "Nastenka" is grown in seedlings. Sowing seeds is carried out in February-March. After a few days, friendly shoots appear, which should not be excessively watered, since overmoistening can lead to the death of shoots. At the stage of 2-3 leaves, seedlings are dived. A prerequisite for planting plants in the open air is their preliminary hardening for two weeks. Seedlings are planted in greenhouses in April, and in open ground in May. Up to 5-6 bushes are planted per square meter. Increased planting density reduces yield and complicates plant care. Under favorable weather conditions and care, the first ripe fruits appear in early June.

Tomato "Nastenka", however, like the other varieties of tomatoes, requires constant care. Regular top dressing of plants with complex fertilizers, plentiful and regular watering, loosening of soil and removal of dried leaves give good results in increasing yields and prolonging fruiting.
