Extraordinarily pleasing to the eye is any product made with multi-colored viscous. Consider how to make jacquard patterns on the canvas not only with knitting needles, but also with a crochet. The proposed methods can be mastered even by a beginner needlewoman.
Counting on the main features of multicolor knitting
Changing the threads of several shades allows you to create unusually beautiful patterns. Classic jacquard patterns are obtained by knitting an ornament on the front side of the hosiery according to the schemes according to which one cell is equal to one loop. And the inside is replete with freely stretched threads, which, if necessary, are used in the work. As a rule, only experienced needlewomen take up such work, as certain skills, special patience and skill are needed. It is very difficult to make neat jacquard patterns. How to knit them according to all the rules? The main thing is to feel and regulate the tension of threads varying from different balls, since the appearance of the finished product mainly depends on this. But before you begin to perform serious patterns, try your hand at knitting out the so-called “false” jacquard, which is much easier to master. A multi-color canvas can be made with knitting needles or crochet.
How do lazy jacquard patterns fit with knitting needles?
The main distinguishing feature of this technique for producing a multi-colored canvas is the absence of loose sagging threads from the wrong side. The secret is that variegation is ensured by pulling the threads from the previous row. Let's consider the principles of work in stages. Knit, for example, two rows of one color with the front surface. Then, changing the thread to a different shade, conduct work, capturing only those loops that are indicated on the diagram. And all the rest (of the previous color), just take off the needle in turn. Then rotate the fabric and knit the entire row with purl stitches. Changing the location of the removed loops, you will create a jacquard ornament. The resulting work will consist of a different color of cells. As a rule, such a "lazy" weaving can be performed with threads of only two colors. Unfortunately, the “false” jacquard is less often used for work by craftswomen, although it is very simple to execute.
How to crochet a colorful ornament?
In order for the product to turn out with a variegated pattern, the alternation of threads of two or three colors is usually used. Unlike the work done with knitting needles, the crocheted web has no sagging seams on the wrong side. This accuracy is obtained due to the fact that free threads lie on top and hide by wrapping them. Another interesting way is to stretch the threads through the lower rows (photo 2). This crocheted jacquard pattern allows you to create a much denser fabric by applying a new knit to the previous one. The work is quite easy to perform, relying on the proposed scheme (photo 3).
- Dial the chain of the desired length, based on a repeat of 6 loops.
- Knit four rows with single crochet in the first color.
- Using the second shade, work as follows (RLS - single crochet): regular RLS, RLS for the previous row, a little stretched RLS under the second previous knitting level, a long RLS under the third row, a little stretched RLS under the second previous knitting level, RLS under previous row.
- Knit the next three rows in the usual way.
As you can see, “lazy” jacquard patterns with knitting and crocheting are quite simple. And outwardly they look no worse than the real ones, made according to all the rules of multicolor knitting.
