Call of Duty: Ghost: PC system requirements

Call of Duty: Ghosts has become the 10th game in the popular military shooter series. The game was developed jointly by Infinity Ward, Raven Software and Neversoft. It was published by Activision on November 5, 2013 for PCs, old and new generation consoles. Below we’ll give an overview, as well as what Call of Duty: Ghost system requirements are, problems with the game and ways to solve them.

Single review

The Call of Duty series has been pleasing fans of arcade shooters for over 10 years, bringing billions of dollars to the publisher. After the successful MW 2, the developers stopped adding anything radically new in order to refresh the gameplay. Finally, Infinity Ward decided to rectify this situation, moving away from the themes of modern warfare (in 2012 Treyarch studio conducted the same experiment very successfully, releasing BO 2), creating Call of Duty: Ghosts, which throws the player in the near future. This time we were given the opportunity to run through the lands of the post-apocalyptic USA, destroyed by orbital explosions, visit the colorful tropical seas and visit space. Everything is quite grandiose, but after 2-3 hours the exciting surroundings completely disappear, because the tasks quietly slide into boring shootouts, protracted dialogs and annoying scripts. The plot in "Ghosts" is present, but it exists for only one purpose - in order to logically switch from one attraction to another. In general, with the passage of each new mission, the game becomes more and more dull. Nevertheless, chic directing, a variety of locations, tasks with Riley's doggie (of which, unfortunately, only 2) extend the Call of Duty: Ghosts campaign.

Co-op Overview

In the Call of Duty series, aliens with Survival mode have come. As you know, Treyarch has its own zombie chip, which is why Infinity Ward did not want to lag behind, creating a fresh co-op mode. Its essence is quite simple: they reached one point => repelled the attack => ran to another => repeated. The location was modeled competently, and there are even more tactical elements than in the same zombies. In general, everything is played fun. Unfortunately, at the start, players were presented with only 1 card (+4 are available with downloadable content), which is very unfortunate. But the special operations were not delivered, which is rather strange. Infinity Ward created them so skillfully in previous parts of MW that their absence in the Ghosts is completely incomprehensible.

Multiplayer review

As for the multiplayer, then, unlike the previous parts, he progressed. All prestige has sunk into oblivion, and fighters having their classes and level have come to replace them. Plus, the developers added customization, in which the presence of female characters occupies a special place. Creating a class has returned to a more classic look. In Ghosts, as before, there is a separate invariable place for the main and additional weapons, grenades and modules. There are 8 slots for perks, with 35 different skills. Maps slightly increased in size (as for the CoD series), among which there was a place for interactive locations. We already saw something similar in Black Ops 2. We conclude our review with a fly in the ointment in the PC version of the game. The fact is that the Call of Duty: Ghost system requirements are so high that even on top-end machines all kinds of bugs and friezes appear. Of course, no questions would have arisen if the game had pleased with incredibly beautiful graphics, realistic physics and excellent soundtrack, but the engine remained the same, and the picture did not go too far from the 2009 Modern Warfare 2 release. This is very frustrating. Reviewing all of the above: Call of Duty: Ghosts deserves only 6/10.

Problems and solutions

PC users quite often suffer from all sorts of errors, many of which arise due to terrible optimization. We have already said above that Call of Duty: Ghost has extremely high system requirements for PCs. Basically, there are many ways to help debug the Ghosts to shine. Let's start looking at errors.

  1. Knocks out the error "Your system memory (RAM) does not meet minmum specification". The game requires 6 GB of RAM, and therefore, the purchase of additional RAM slots will fix this problem. In principle, the Call of Duty: Ghost system requirements are quite high, so you have to upgrade the system. If you do not want to shell out for the purchase of "RAM", then use RAMfix.
  2. Hangs and bugs are common everywhere . This problem is fixed by traditional methods: reinstalling the drivers for the video card, sound card, updating Microsoft Visual C ++, DirectX, updating the game to the latest patch, or completely reinstalling it.
  3. Shadow problems . As a rule, the problem arises on some video cards that are poorly adapted for the game. The solution to the problem may be to update the drivers or turn off the shadows in the graphics settings.
  4. The sound disappears . Reinstall DirectX libraries and sound card drivers.

Call of Duty: Ghost - System Requirements (PC)

As you already understood, the game is very demanding on hardware. Why? The most appropriate explanation would be the laziness of the developers in their work on optimization. We do not find other options: the graphics are at an extremely low level, all levels are linear, the animation is not implemented in the best way. But let's move on to the description of what system requirements are in Call of Duty: Ghost. Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7/8 (64-bit);
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 Ghz or equivalent from AMD;
  • GPU: GeForce GTS 450 / Radeon HD 5870;
  • RAM: 6 Gb;
  • Hard disk space: 40 Gb.

Surprised? With such a PC, you can play quite comfortably in Battlefield 4 or Crysis 3, where the level of graphics is much higher. However, in Ghosts you'll often see flickering textures, friezes or freezes. So it goes. What are the system requirements for the most optimal game in Call of Duty: Ghost?

  • OS: Windows 7/8 (64-bit);
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 3.6Ghz or equivalent from AMD;
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 760;
  • RAM: 8 Gb;
  • Hard disk space: 40 Gb.

Think for yourself: is it worth it to upgrade your PC for such a game? In Call of Duty: Ghost, the PC system requirements are higher than in Battlefield 4, which already says something. If you are an avid fan of the series, then fun post-shootings are provided for you, and therefore updating the system is strictly recommended. Moreover, this will be needed for future next-gene projects.

Additions

What Call of Duty without a pack of add-ons? Of course, for a long time, the developers supported the game with content so that gamers would not get bored on the same cards. A total of 4 DLCs were released: Invasion, Devastation, Onslaught and Nemesis.

The debut was the launch of the Onslaught add-on, released on January 28, 2013. The developers were able to please the players with 5 new maps (4 for multiplayer battles and 1 for the cooperative), as well as new weapons. Among the multiplayer arenas (Fog, BayView, Containment, Ignition), the latter, which is a remake of the famous Scrapyard from Modern Warfare 2, stands out especially.

The second DLC was Devastation, released May 8, 2014. Gamers were again pleased with 4 cards for the collective game (Ruins, Behemoth, Collision, Unearthed), the last of which became a remake of the MW3 Dome card. They did not forget Infinity Ward about the cooperative, for which they created a new map Episode 2: Mayday.

The third was Invasion, which became available for download on July 3, 2014. By tradition, the DLC included 4 multiplayer maps (Departed, Pharaoh, Mutiny, Favela), the last of which became a remake of the beloved arena from MW2. Co-op replenished with Awakening card.

The latest downloadable content for Call of Duty: Ghosts is the Nemesis add-on. We think we will not surprise anyone by saying that it includes 4 online maps (Goldrush, Subzero, Dynasty, Showtime). Of course, the latter did not become an independent arena, based on the Shipment card from the first part of MW. For the cooperative, Extinction-Exodus was developed.

THE CODE

Finally

Call of Duty: Ghosts remained the standard action movie for the series, devoid of any innovations. The long-established formula still works, which allows Activision to collect billions in revenue from sales. Nevertheless, Infinity Ward released a good game (or rather, worked out), that is, fans will be satisfied. If you have not played enough in the previous parts of the series, or prefer larger-scale battles (like Battlefield), then you can safely skip this part. Call of Duty: Ghost system requirements (PC) are extremely high, there are packs of bugs, cranberry storyline, the same gameplay and outdated graphics. In general, the last choice is always yours.
