Analysis "I met you - and all the past ..." F. Tyutcheva. The story of the creation of the poem

Perhaps the most soulful lines about love belong to Peru of the 19th century Russian poet F. I. Tyutchev. His passion for women gave Russian literature a lot of poems, filled with enthusiasm and bliss, suffering and a sense of tragedy.

A special place in the poet’s work is occupied by the work (in this article we offer a detailed analysis of it) “I met you - and all the past ...”. Tyutchev writes in it about love so that the feelings of the lyrical hero turn out to be akin to the mental state of many readers.

The mysterious "K.B."

The poem was created in 1870, when its author was already 66 years old.

There is a version that on July 26 the poet, who was undergoing treatment in Carlsbad, accidentally collides with Baroness Amalia Krudener (K.B.), nee Lerchenfeld. They met in their youth: passionate feelings flared up between them. However, fate wished that young Amalia was given to marry a wealthy baron. And now, after several decades, - a new meeting that stirred up in the soul of Fedor Ivanovich old experiences. The evidence of contemporaries of the poet and the analysis “I met you - and all the past ...” speak in favor of this, which is generally accepted.

However, not so long ago another version appeared of the one to whom the poem is addressed. Literary scholars suggest that "KB" could be Clotilde von Botmer - this is the sister of the poet’s first wife. Tyutchev knew her even before his marriage, in addition, during the creation of the poem, she lived near Carlsbad.

Analysis "I met you - and all the past ..."

The theme of the poem is the resurrection in the soul of a person of a desire to live, caused by memories of happy past days.

The first impression that occurs while reading the text is that the lyrical hero, who has reached adulthood (parallel with autumn), is tired, and his feelings have long been dulled. Nothing pleases him, all the best seems to be left behind. And suddenly, an unexpected meeting with youth, which made his blood worry again. The author very successfully transfers this state, using the oxymoron “in an outdated heart came to life” already in the second line. The analysis “I met you - and all that was old ...” brings to memory the other lines of the poet: “I remember the golden time ...” written at a time when he was still young and full of energy.

In the second stanza, metaphors appear that add up to interesting associations: time of year - the age of the person. The parallels of autumn - old age and spring - youth help to understand how unexpected for the hero those changes that occur in his soul. Flooded memories gradually, unobtrusively awaken life, joy, give hope, inspire. The sleep motif used in the 4th stanza is interesting (“I look at you as if in a dream”), emphasizing the unexpectedness and importance of what is happening.

Gradually, it comes to the realization that the hero is still able to fully sense the movement of life, and his heart is open to love just as in distant youth.

The lexical system of the poem

The description of the feelings that came to life in the hero is helped by a special verbal series of poems, which is proved by the analysis “I met you - and all the past ...”. The work is easy to read, without effort, which contributes to the bright mood, causing an emotional response vocabulary.

The words “golden”, “will blow ... in spring”, “rapture”, “charm” emanate warmth and tenderness, and a little noticeable sadness (“centuries of separation”, “late autumn”) only sets off the changes that take place in the soul. The solemnity and importance of the moment are given by a sublime vocabulary: “wrapped in a breath”, “shake up”, “well, charm”.

The movement of feelings, souls convey and the verbs: “came to life”, “shake up”, “life spoke”. They are connected with the image of a light breeze, a barely noticeable breath of which awakens the dormant forces inside: "suddenly it will spring in spring."

Means of expression: analysis

“I met you - and everything past ...” is distinguished by an abundance of paths that help convey the depth of feelings of the lyrical hero. These are personifications and metaphors (“in an obsolete heart”, “the heart became ... warm”, “life spoke”), comparisons (“as after centuries of separation”), epithets (“golden” time, “cute” features, “centuries old” separation ) A special role is played by inversion (“there are days,” “sounds became more audible”), anaphora (repetition of the first words in the last stanza), which focus on the emotionally significant parts of the poem.

The analysis “I met you - and all the past ...” draws attention to the sound side of the work. Assonance (repetition [O], [E]) and alliteration (softer [B], [H] and contrasting [P]) give the text melody, lightness, freshness, comparable to the breeze of the breeze, and at the same time emphasize the unexpectedness of what is happening. The arising contrasts help the author capture the slightest movements of the reborn soul. Thus, each stanza - there are only five of them - is a new stage in the hero’s experiences: from the first trembling recognition of his beloved to the sensation of the triumph of life and love that enveloped his entire being.

The image of the muse that inspired the poet is blurred. We do not see the description of the beloved - the author only notes the “cute features” and her characteristic “charm”. Perhaps that is why the poem does not leave the reader indifferent: everyone sees in him the appearance of a woman created by his own imagination. The analysis “I met you - and everything past ...”, whose theme is the spiritual rebirth of the hero after meeting with his beloved woman, shows that it is very important for the poet to convey feelings that fill him.

F. Tyutchev in this way focuses his attention precisely on revealing a lyrical hero filled with inexhaustible love, tenderness, and hopes of the inner world .

The Union of Poetry and Music

For the poem written by Yamb, “I met you - and all the past ...” (analysis of the plan given above, it has already been emphasized), melodiousness and musicality are characteristic. It is no accident that composers tried to shift it to music. The most successful performance of the romance was recognized by I. Kozlovsky. Most likely, this is an interpretation of the melody written by L. Malashkin. In this version, the romance has reached our times and for over a hundred years has been pleasing to connoisseurs of real poetry and music.
