Two numbers mark each screw, for example, 4x30. The first number informs about the diameter of the screw under the head, measured in millimeters, the second - the length of the screw section (mm). For machine screws or metric screws that are used for metal, the rod diameter is constant in length. The screw can be screwed into the threaded hole drilled in the metal, or it can be passed into the through hole in the package of fastened parts, then a flat or spring washer is put on its end and the nut is screwed so that the parts are tightly pressed together.

The nut is marked with the letter M and marked with a number (from M1 to M68). The number indicates the diameter of the screw on which the nut intended for it will be screwed: for example, a nut marked M4 will only fit a screw with a diameter of 4 millimeters.   1. How the parts are fixed: through the parts, the bolt passes completely, as a rule, and fastened with a nut (the threaded hole of the part is slightly less common), and the screw must be screwed into one of the parts that has a thread.
  2. Entry into the parts: scrolling inward, the screw fixes the parts, but the bolt does not do this, it remains static.
