Nice to meet you, plasticine lion

Plasticine is a very fertile material for children's creativity. With it, you can create volumetric sculptures, flat paintings and flat-volume applications. A child of even a preschool age can easily cope with one of them. Its production does not require a lot of time, material and effort. The main thing is to be patient and be careful.

Plasticine applique

Application - the creation on some basis, which will serve as the background, paintings from a variety of materials. You can, for example, create a lion from plasticine.

This lesson contributes to the development of imagination, creative personality, work skills.

Plasticine happens:

  • solid (grade T),
  • soft (brand M),
  • smart (similar to chewing gum, it can flow, break and tear, magnetize or even glow and change its color).

How to prepare for work

Plasticine can be bought at the store. But you need to consider that for plasticine applications you need a material that sticks to cardboard. And the one that does not stick to anything is suitable for volume modeling.

You will need a stack - a special shovel, which the sculptor uses when sculpting. Sometimes they use a knife, a toothpick, a wire instead. As a result, each artist dwells on his special tools.

For the upcoming work on a plasticine lion, it will be better if there is a lining board. It can be made independently from a piece of linoleum, or purchased. You just need to remember that working on an oilcloth is not convenient, since it will stick to plasticine, drag along and wrap it.

Well, a napkin - paper or linen. It is needed not only to maintain cleanliness in the workplace, but also to wipe your hands when you need to change color from dark to light.

We sculpt a lion from plasticine in stages

What geometric shapes can an image of a lion cub consist of? Of circles, triangle, ovals. You can come up with your own options.

Step 1

Prepare a contrasting background (color cardboard).

Step 2

Weโ€™ll draw a rough sketch (outline the position of the head and body).

Step 2 - markup

Step 3

We roll out long flagella from plasticine:

  • orange (for the head and body of a lion from plasticine);
  • yellow (for mane and tail);
  • brown (for paws and cheeks).

We blind five cakes:

  • two black ones for the eye;
  • two white ones (smaller) - for the pupils;
  • one more black - for the nose.
Step 3 - Harvesting the Flagella

Step 4

From flagella we make blanks for future applications.

  • Twist the round head.
  • Sculpt oval paws.
  • Twist round cheeks.
  • We form the body of a lion from plasticine in the form of a spring expanding downward (the tail is a continuation of the flagellum of the body).
  • With a ladder, we bend the flagellum for mane and place it in an arc around the head.
Step 4 - make the mane

Step 5

Transfer the blanks to the cardboard of the background and slightly press down.

We decorate the tail brush with three small pieces of a brown flagellum.

Step 6

The base with the application applied on it can be inserted into a beautiful frame.

Lion in all its glory

This is just one of the instructions on how to make a plasticine of a lion. If you include fantasy, you can come up with a lot of their options.

Such a work that is not difficult to manufacture can serve as a good gift or a visual aid. Or maybe it will lay the foundation for a whole plasticine gallery.
