For all the time of its existence as an independent breed, Rottweilers have simply changed a huge number of “professions”. For a long time, these dogs were used as shepherds. Later, German policemen caught criminals with their help. Merchants often took Rottweilers with them on long journeys.
This popularity of the breed is explained primarily by its intelligibility, endurance and enormous physical strength. To train a rottweiler is not difficult even for a beginner.

Congenital features of the character - this, of course, is something with which to be trained. Rottweiler belongs to a not too large group of dogs with a very balanced character. The processes of excitation and inhibition in these dogs are exactly the same. The only thing, the transition from one emotional state to another is somewhat slow. In this they differ from the same popular German shepherds. However, such a small drawback is easily balanced by the persistence of the developed skills and the reliability in the execution of teams.
Rottweilers - dogs are very smart and sensitive. They do not tolerate loneliness, and therefore from time to time they require attention from the owner. In a family, a Rottweiler always picks one owner. Usually this is the most confident person. The fact is that the Rottweilers, in spite of all their sensitivity, have very strongly developed leadership qualities. And such a dog will simply not obey a weak-minded person.
When to start?
Of course, many owners of such dogs are interested in the question of how old their training can be started. Rottweiler is currently most often used as a security guard dog. Therefore, the training of representatives of this breed can include three main stages:

Raising and training a puppy with learning the simplest commands, of course, should start from the very moment the dog appears in the house. Animals take special difficult courses from a certain age, usually under the guidance of an experienced specialist. So, on OKD, rottweilers are most often taken from 8 months of age. ZKD courses can only take one-year-old dogs.
The basics: the first teams
Where should training begin? The Rottweiler is a smart dog, and it’s worth starting to learn the simplest commands with it immediately after its acquisition. A small doggie can also be instilled with certain skills. From a month and a half with a rottweiler, teams such as:

Of course, when training, do not shout too loudly at the puppy and even more so beat him. This can make a very nervous dog, even such a balanced and calm breed, like a Rottweiler.
Training a puppy will be much more successful if the owner prefers to use not only punishment, but also praise in the process of upbringing. You can encourage a doggie with the help of some goodies. Punishment should be applied only in the most extreme case. If the puppy flatly does not want to obey, you just need to grab it by the withers, lift it and put it back on its feet.

There is an acquired Rottweiler puppy, the training of which is not too complicated, but requires patience, you need to immediately train it at a certain time and in the right place. The animal must have its own bowl.
Before pouring food into it, the owner should lightly tap it on the floor. Such actions should be repeated periodically. After a while, the Rottweiler puppy will understand what such a sound means and will run into the kitchen to a full bowl. In this case, it is better to start training only after the dog is 6-8 months old.
Also at this stage, the Rottweilers are trained to refuse feed and slow down when overcoming obstacles. In professional courses, a dog, among other things, can be given swimming lessons.
"Beside"
This team is the first skill that matured Rottweiler puppies usually learn. Training and education in this case should be carried out systematically, without interruption. After pronouncing the command “Near”, the dog should go to the left of the owner so that his shoulder is at the foot of a person.
To develop such a skill in a dog, a short leash is first used. The dog is placed at the foot. Then they give the command “Near” and accompany it with a light jerk towards themselves. “Stand” and “Aport”
In order to learn this command, the dog should be seated at the left foot. Then you need to pull the rottweiler up: with your right hand - behind the collar, with your left - under the stomach. At the same time, the word “stand” is pronounced.
The “Aport” command is worked out as follows:
the dog is seated at the left leg;

give the command "Aport";
make a hand gesture in the direction of the subject.
As soon as the dog picks up the thing, you need to call it to yourself and command: "Give."
How to teach a rottweiler to refuse food
This skill will protect the guard dog from poisoning when an attacker attempts to enter the courtyard of the house. Also, rottweilers trained in this way never pick up food waste from the ground.
To refuse to feed dogs is taught in two stages. First, they develop the skill of not raising anything from the ground, and then - not taking food from the hands of strangers.
Begin training by putting a bowl in front of the dog. When he tries to start eating, they say the command "You can’t" or "Fu", holding the rottweiler by the collar. After 10-15 seconds. the dog is released. At the same time, they say the command "Eat." The retention time of the dog by the collar is gradually increased to 1 min.
