Today, material such as drywall is very widely used during repairs. This is due to the versatility of the application: pipe sheathing in bathrooms, an arched opening, a decorative structure made of drywall on the ceiling, shelves and niches, as well as all kinds of interior partitions.
Often, the installation of drywall sheets is carried out on a pre-assembled frame, consisting of metal profiles or wooden blocks. However, laying drywall on glue is a great alternative to the traditional option. This allows you to significantly save time and finances, as well as to avoid loss of usable area due to frame structures. Most often, laying drywall on glue is done in the manufacture of window slopes, as well as for leveling the walls. If you glued sheets of drywall in the joint, without seams, the result is a perfectly smooth surface. In the future, you can go through the finishing putty and paint, or lay tiles, wallpaper, etc. For the installation of drywall on a large area, it is better to buy ready-made glue for drywall in a hardware store. If it is necessary to glue drywall on a small area or several slopes, then such glue can be prepared independently at home.
To do this, we need: a suitable container, a
construction mixer (a nozzle for a punch is also suitable), starting putty, water, construction PVA glue. Further, you must adhere to the following instructions and you can prepare glue for drywall.
The starting putty is taken and diluted with water in the same way as a normal solution. If the starting putty is missing, then you can replace it with the finish. The solution is mixed until it resembles a uniform dense mass without clots and lumps. If the solution is very liquid, then during the gluing process it will leak out from under the sheet. If the solution turns out to be too thick, then it will not be convenient to work with it and it will not be possible to attach the material qualitatively.
Next, PVA is added to the mixture and mixed again. The amount of glue is taken at the rate of 1 kg of glue per 13-15 kg of putty. It is necessary to allow glue to infuse for several minutes, and then it can be used for installation of drywall.
Glue for drywall is applied pointwise (diameter about 15 cm) on the sheet along the edge and in the middle, and also on the surface of the walls. The weight of a standard sheet of drywall is about 30 kg, so it is not recommended to use a large amount of glue, since it will work quite hard.
After the glue is applied, gently apply the sheet and gently press. All manipulations should be performed very carefully, since the drywall itself is quite fragile and can easily crack. Using the construction level, horizontal and vertical are controlled. For greater reliability, you can fix the glued drywall in several places with dowels or self-tapping screws. Glue for drywall, made independently, is not inferior in its properties to the factory one.
