A bent channel is a metal product similar in cross section to the letter βPβ. This material consists of a wall and two shelves that are located on one side. Typically, a channel bent equal-shelf is produced from two to twelve meters long, while the wall thickness varies from 2.5 to 8 millimeters.
A feature of the product is its small specific gravity and at the same time high strength. Metal structures made from this rolled metal are lightweight, and at the same time they are able to withstand significant loads.
A bent channel is distinguished from a hot-rolled channel by dimensional accuracy, and visually - by the presence of external rounded corners. In the manufacture of the product on roll forming machines, all defects in the workpiece are corrected, so further processing of the material is not required. In contrast to hot-rolled profiles, which have an uneven thickness, which negatively affects welding and other operations, a bent channel can be used without even removing the chamfer.
The relatively low cost of products in combination with excellent strength characteristics allows the use of this metal in construction and industry, which ensures high economic efficiency.
The bent channel is widely used for the reconstruction of buildings and for the construction of various objects. Today, the metal structures in which this material is present make quite a serious competition to conventional (traditional) reinforced concrete buildings.
This allows you to achieve a number of technological and economic advantages, reduce the complexity of installation work, reduce construction time. For example, many engineers and builders pay attention to the type of channel, which is a galvanized thermal profile, made to individual sizes.
Also, the use of the material allows minimizing the load on the structure, which, in turn, makes it possible to make the building foundation simpler. In addition, the bent channel is characterized by high functionality and versatility, which makes it reasonable to use it in a variety of construction sites. The material is used for the manufacture of the cladding of external or internal walls, the construction of partitions in industrial and residential / office buildings.
Another important area of ββapplication of bent metal rolling is engineering. Channel bars are used for the manufacture of various parts of mechanisms and machines, as well as for the construction of frame structures. Bearing frames for trucks are made from material in the automotive industry.
A bent channel, the assortment of which is quite diverse, is made on roll forming mills from hot rolled carbon steel, structural or low alloy steel.
Products along the length of the shelves are divided into equal and unequal bent channel channels, which are produced according to different GOSTs.
The range is also classified by rolling accuracy (normal, high and high precision), size and shape (with parallel faces, with a slope, economical, lightweight, special).
