Tomato leaves curl due to unfavorable growing conditions. This happens when plants are planted in a greenhouse. The soil itself is still cold, and the air temperature is high. The roots cannot get enough nutrients, and the remaining parts of the plant quickly lose them, and it turns out that the leaves are twisted around tomato seedlings . Temperature differences are not the only reason
why tomato leaves curl. This may also indicate the presence of a rather serious disease called "bacteriosis", or "bacterial cancer." It can be recognized not only by folding leaves, but also by sores and cracks on the bottom of the sheet. And if the stalk is cut, then brown streaks can be found on the pulp. Unfortunately, the means to combat this disease have not yet been invented. Only one thing remains: mercilessly tear out and destroy the diseased plants. It is advisable not to stack these bushes in a common pile, but to burn. The fact is that bacterial spores are usually very stable, they do not decay together with the rest of the plant material, but remain intact and wait in the wings. It turns out that the owner himself can become a distributor of the disease on his site. It is also impossible to leave fruits on seeds from such a bush.
The reason why the leaves are curled in a tomato may be a lack of mineral nutrients. For example, they curl down, their color becomes grayish-green, and the veins become purple if phosphorus is not enough. Deformation occurs, spots appear - this means the plant lacks sulfur. And the appearance of yellowness and purple streaks speaks of
deficiency or a large amount of boron. If there is a lot of this microelement, the leaves become like paper. With a lack of zinc, the surface will turn purple, bend down. Quite seriously, the lack of copper, calcium and potassium will affect the tomatoes. Young and fruitful shoots are more affected here. With a lack of these elements, the leaves will not only curl, but also become smaller, in the end they will begin to die. Fruits will develop slowly with many defects. It’s not difficult to cope with these problems. You need to select the appropriate fertilizer and feed them plants.
