A gripper is a player who tries to inflict moral or material damage on other users. Such people periodically appear in any games where, in principle, such interaction is provided, and in each they fight in their own way. The game in which the concept of "gripper" is most common is Minecraft.
What is it manifested in?
Basically, griefing is the destruction of various buildings or making any changes to them. Also, a gripper is a user who is meaninglessly killing other players for his pleasure. It is worth noting the fact that in Minecraft this is a fairly massive phenomenon, and at the moment even a lot of teams have been formed, specially sharpened for griffin and deterioration of the game on various servers.
Any gripper is an extremely serious threat to the normal gaming community. After all, individually or together, they are an extremely serious problem for server administrators who are trying in every possible way to support building players.
Why do this?
There are several reasons why a griffin operates in Minecraft:
- an attempt to get rich through robbery;
- moral pleasure from the destruction of other people's property;
- an attempt to appropriate things or blocks that are the property of others;
- an attempt to change the landscape on your own;
- lack of knowledge about the basic rules of conduct on a particular server.
Among other things, some people in this way try to avenge the blocking or griffin of other users, and also do this in order to blackmail. The latter can be manifested, for example, in the fact that a certain player is forced to join a certain group, and otherwise they threaten to destroy his property or even block it.
Special servers
Over time, specialized Minecraft servers began to emerge for fingerprints, which combine players with this focus. In some cases, administrators use a similar tool to ban griefers by simply sending them to a similar server (sometimes even without their knowledge).
It is worth noting that in Minecraft, in principle, various "legitimate" mods are widely used, which allow you to modify the client and make it more enjoyable to play, but attackers often use special "cheat" mods with which they greatly facilitate their actions. In particular, cheating is the most common reason why griefers are sent to an “evil” server for the same users.
What do they give?
The advantages of such cheats are mainly provided by the following:
- Flight. It may not be used for a specific act of griefing, but it is often used to detect potential venues for such a procedure.
- Scanner. Makes some surfaces transparent, which greatly facilitates the search for hidden chests and ores.
- Night vision. The player sees everything perfectly even in absolutely dark caves and other places, completely closed from the light.
- Stealth. The player can walk in a sitting position, that is, the nickname above the head becomes more transparent, but the player’s speed does not slow down.
- High-speed mining. The rate of extraction of ore from blocks is significantly increased.
- Force field. Deals a large amount of damage to everyone who surrounds the grief, if they are within the radius of destruction.
- Immortality. The user does not take any damage. Almost all variations of cheats of this kind on modern servers were completely blocked.
There are many other cheat options that can be used by grippers to achieve their goals. Each of them is distinguished by its features and advantages, and most importantly, by its availability on various servers.
In this regard, it is no exaggeration to say that at Minecraft the gripper can cause serious damage to its victims, and for this reason their appearance is an extremely serious problem for administrators and other players. That is why most servers have a wide variety of restrictions that can limit such activities. First of all, this, of course, refers to providing effective protection against cheats, and only then to the limitations of the possibility of a "legitimate" gripe in relation to other players.
