James Tchaikovsky, a popular American writer, was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1961. With three sisters and three brothers, he grew up in the Midwest, and the children spent the summer in rural Canada, where Jack decided to become a veterinarian. After receiving a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri, he opened his own veterinary clinic in Sacramento (California).
The author wrote his first adventure novel under the pseudonym James Rollins. All books in order (we will analyze them in the article) begin with a work called "Cave". James wrote this novel without breaking away from veterinary practice and graduated in 1995, but the publication took place only in 1998. During a three-year wait, Tchaikovsky tries himself in the fantasy genre, and in 1998 his first book in the genre “Fire of the Witch” was published, which opens the cycle “Cursed and Exiled”. In the fantasy genre, the author works under the pseudonym James Clemens. Tchaikovsky is a caver and certified by the PADI Diver Association, so the actions of his works taking place under the water and earth are so realistic. The New York Times calls him the best-selling author, and People magazine notes that every work by the writer instantly becomes a bestseller.
James Rollins "Cave"
The events of the novel take the reader to Antarctica, where a research expedition was sent to study and describe the remains of an ancient settlement found in one of the caves, hidden under the eternal ice of the continent. The research team will soon find out that this is not the first group to descend into the ice maze to study abandoned dwellings about five million years old. It turns out that the first expedition was gone. In the process of searching for the previous team, researchers conclude that under the ice there is a whole unknown civilization with its secrets and mysteries. Where the mysterious labyrinths lead the heroes and what they have to face, the reader will learn. As already mentioned, Cave is the first adventure novel written by James Rollins. All books (in order we will analyze them in the article), written by the author in this genre, are no less interesting and worthy of attention.
"Pyramid"
The publication of the novel took place on July 3, 2000. The author himself with special trepidation talks about writing this book, since he is a big fan of history and folk traditions and has studied a lot of material relating to the Incas. It is the secrets of this civilization that are discussed in the novel. The book is interesting not only for the amazing adventures of the heroes, but also for the myths and historical facts cited in it that reveal many secrets of the ancient Inca civilization. The impenetrable South American jungle captivates the reader in this novel, James Rollins. The pyramid, standing between the two impregnable peaks of the Andes, keeps ancient secrets, which archaeologist Henry Koklin is going to reveal.
"Abyss"
This is the next best seller of the author, released in 2001. The novel is a symbiosis of several genres, so its plot keeps the reader in constant tension. The thriller catches fear with an impending universal catastrophe, captures the breathtaking incredible adventures of the protagonist, captivates with unknown facts of alternative history and excites the imagination with the fantastic possibilities of ancient civilizations, so far inaccessible to modern humanity.
Uncover many secrets and overcome a lot of dangerous obstacles to the scientist Jack Kirkland, who created James Rollins. The abyss of nonexistence threatens all of humanity if the protagonist fails to decipher the mysterious inscriptions left by ancient civilization for posterity on a crystalline column found in the depths of the ocean. Can a scientist change a world that is rapidly rushing towards its own destruction? The reader learns this, having experienced with the main character all the adventures prepared for him by the author.
Amazonia and Iceberg
Published in 2002, Amazonia is the third action adventure novel written by the author under the pen name James Rollins. All books in order, considered by us, continues the novel "Iceberg", released in 2003. Like the previous works of the writer, these novels make the reader pretty nervous, empathizing with the main characters. In the novel Amazonia, the author captivates readers in inhospitable forests, concealing the secrets of the death of a scientific expedition. And in his work “Iceberg,” Rollins suggests revealing the circumstances of a monstrous secret experiment buried in the polar ice, which could result in dire consequences for the entire planet.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Speaking of James Rollins, of course, one should recall his book Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). Thanks to the author, the hero beloved by more than one generation received new adventures and started a family. And even though Indie’s adventures related to the crystal skull are beautifully recreated on the screen, a book with colorful events not included in the film is worth reading.
"Altar of Eden"
The novel, published in 2012, immediately won the hearts of readers and was fascinated to deal with the amazing mystery discovered in the Mississippi Delta. At the heart of the novel is the scientist Lorna Polk, who has to study strange animals and go through terrible trials to uncover the secret created by the author.
Sigma Squad
This is a cycle of thirteen adventure novels, united by the theme of the disclosure of dangerous conspiracies and mysterious phenomena by members of the secret organization Sigma. The main characters in the squad have to solve a lot of complicated tasks that the author James Rollins masterfully invents for them. All books in order from the cycle "Sigma Squad" begin with the novel "Sand Devil" (2004). Here, the reader first learns about the existence of a secret organization dealing with the most mysterious phenomena on the planet. At the moment, the series of books "Sigma Squad" ends with the novel "The Seventh Pestilence", published in 2016. No less exciting for the reader will be two cycles of novels written by Rollins in collaboration with Rebecca Cantrell - “The Order of the Sanguinists” - and Grant Blackwood (“Tucker Wayne”).
Fans of the fantasy genre, the author has prepared several cycles of novels with no less exciting stories and amazing adventures of the main characters. Recall that in this genre, the writer creates under the pseudonym James Clemens.
