In specialized stores for needlework, you can choose rep braid from five to sixty mm wide in various colors. From it you can create various products with your own hands. Today we will talk about original hair ornaments, and mainly American bows are of interest to us.

Rep ribbons are used in textile production for processing the side and interior seams of furniture, hemming trousers, fringing and decor of hats, decorating various postcards and panels, for edging pillows made by yourself. Create a beautiful hair accessory
We will need:
- Braid of different colors and widths, as well as a satin ribbon, the width of which is four centimeters.
- A beautiful button for an aesthetic look of a bow or a decorative brooch.
- Glue gun.
- Lighter for processing edges from shedding.
- Scrunchy.
- Thread and needle, scissors.
Do not forget to prepare a great mood. So, when everything is in stock, you can begin to manufacture this decoration. From the satin ribbon we measure two segments 23 cm long and form a bow out of it, which we sew in the middle with threads in tone. Then we cut off five pieces of ten centimeters each from the lace braid, matching in color with a satin, but with a pattern. The width of this tape should be 2.5-3 cm. We design the ends of the rep braid in the form of flags and process it with a lighter so that the threads at the ends do not open. Then we fold the tape and fasten with a needle, tightening and securing.
Next, we take another rep braid, the width of which is also 2.5-3 cm, and the color is a shade paler or brighter, and cut off 45 cm. We process the edge with a lighter. We form a bow, firmly fasten it with a needle and thread several times in the center.
Then we take rep braid 1 cm wide and cut four parts of 29 cm each. Be sure to process the edges from shedding. We form two bows, glue them with a glue gun.
Now that all the parts are ready, proceed to assembly. In order: first we put the basis of a satin ribbon, on top - a “flower” of five segments of rep ribbons, then - a bow of a paler or brighter shade, and the last element - a bow of rep ribbons, 1 cm wide. We sew all the details together. Glue the elastic band below, and a beautiful bead or button that matches the color on top. And now the American bow is ready! In this technique, various hairpins can also be made.

We will need: 7 bright rep ribbons (each 23 cm long), a ruler, scissors, threads and a needle, a
glue gun and a lighter for processing a cut of ribbons, a button, a decorative brooch or bead for decoration, and the hair clips themselves that need to be decorated.
Getting to work. We measure and cut from each braid of seven different colors two pieces of 2 cm, 2 of 3 cm, and 2 of 4 cm. Thus, we get 2 sets of strips for two hairpins. We process the edges with a lighter and lay out the parts by color.
We sew the segments with a needle, for this we pierce all the parts one after another, first from one, then from the other edge so that the smallest is in the center, then the middle one, and should be large on top. Similarly, on the same thread we collect all the other segments - future flower petals. Then tighten the thread, while adjusting our workpiece. Next, with a glue gun, glue the flower to the hairpin, and from above in the center of the flower glue the bead. American bows are ready!
