The Sea of Azov - warm, shallow, welcoming, affectionate - has always attracted the attention of tourists not only from Ukraine itself, but also from neighboring countries. Extensive sandy beaches, affordable prices, its own microclimate - what can I say ... One of the pearls of Azov, of course, is the Belosaray Spit. Rest in this resort area is very popular.
Location
Belosaray spit is located in the Donetsk region in the south. The distance to Donetsk is 145 km, and the city of Mariupol is 30 km away. Belosarayka, as it were, continues the village of Melekino, and there is no clear border between them. You can get to the spit from the Mariupol route (second descent), and from the side of Urzuf, turning on the sign. Minus - there is no direct railway connection to Belosarayka. But buses and minibuses go there from almost all cities of the region.

Holidays here are primarily wellness. The healing Sea of Azov, rich in minerals, air, saturated with many trace elements, have a beneficial effect on our lungs, cleansing them of the dust of the city, and restore the nervous system after overwork. The water of the Sea of Azov in large quantities contains iodine, bromine, calcium and is therapeutic in its composition. The remoteness of the spit itself, its entry into the open sea contribute to the preservation of the ecology and microclimate of Belosarayka, prevent pollution by industrial waste products.

Historical reference
For a long time (since the time of Kievan Rus of the twelfth century) there was the city of Belgorod, which in the thirteenth century the Mongols renamed the White Sarai. Then the city gradually declines. The Greeks of the Sea of Azov re-populate these lands. Now Belosarayka is a fishing and mainly resort village. Every year the quality of services is improving, the leisure infrastructure is developing.
Reserve of Ukraine
What else is famous for the Belosaray Spit? Rest - yes, but not only! It is also a reserve, which was founded in 1980 (resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR). It covers an area of 616 ha. A great many plants grow here, including those listed in the Red Book, that is, rare, endangered. Many species are birds and wild animals, insects and arachnids. In coastal waters rich in fish, goby, pike perch, flounder, and pelengas are found. Flora and fauna are diverse and impress with their splendor and originality. The colony of gulls and cormorants in the ornithological reserve on Belosarayk (organized in 1995), as well as white herons on the estuary, deserve special attention. There is also a landscape park "Meotida".
On the spit itself there are salt marshes, estuaries, small lakes. In winter, they are flooded with water, in the summer they dry up and overgrow with thick grass. A narrow isthmus, shell and sand deposits, which are bordered by a surf roll from the sea, connect the Belosarayka with the mainland. The age of the braid is already more than a thousand years. As a result of the rise of the soil (tectonic), then with the help of further washing of the sand - this is how the Belosaray spit was formed.

Belosarayka is one of the most impressive places for recreation and tourism. In addition, prices compare favorably with, for example, Crimean, not to mention Turkey or Egypt. Beautiful beaches, combined with a rather shallow and clean sea, are what we need for our unpretentious vacationers (if desired, a suite with air conditioning, microwave and TV is also possible, but already more expensive). There are also super rooms for those accustomed to comfort. And for outdoor enthusiasts - sea fishing (it is supposed to go to the open sea and catch the famous Azov bull) and walking tours of the famous reserve.
