Isoflex 191: properties, scope and features of storage

Isoflex 191 is an electrically insulating composite material. Its components are glass fabric for electrical purposes, both sides of which are laminated with polyethylene terephthalate film. The composition of polyethylene on both sides and fiberglass between the layers of PET has a very high ductility, which is very important when performing insulation work, since they are usually done manually. For fixing, special binders are used that can provide adhesive interaction at the connection point. This material is an analog of GTP-2Pl fiber.

Basic properties

Isoflex 191
Isoflex 191 characteristics has the following:

  1. High dielectric abilities.
  2. Excellent mechanical performance.
  3. Lightweight and easy to use.
  4. Low rigidity
  5. High heat resistance.
  6. During heating, no harmful substances are released.
  7. Lack of smell.

Isoflex 191 may have a nominal thickness of 0.13 to 0.45 mm. Surface density depends on the thickness of the material and ranges from 194 to 670 g / m². In the initial state, it is able to withstand breakdown voltage of about 13 kV. After the material is subject to kinks, the breakdown voltage index will decrease to 9 kV, and at high humidity and a temperature of about 23 ° C, after 48 hours this figure will become even lower - about 6.5-8.0 kV. The breakdown voltage before the kink can be 10 kV, and after the kink it can be 3 units less. At break, the relative elongation of the transverse direction is approximately 2%, and in the longitudinal - at least three.

Application area

Isoflex 191 Characteristics
Isoflex 191 belongs to narrowly oriented materials: it is used to equip steam insulation of electric machines that have a maximum permissible operating temperature of 155 ° C, as indicated by the designation F. These are low-voltage electric machines, traction motors that need to be equipped with a groove (interphase) isolation. With its help, interlayer gaskets are formed for electric low-voltage machines. It is also in demand for manual isolation of stators, but it is unacceptable to use the 191 isoflex of the grade 191 for the electrical insulation of instruments and equipment designed for the highest class of heat resistance. The operating time is about 20 thousand hours.

Types and storage

Isoflex 191 0 15 roll
Manufacturers produce isoflex 191 two types:

  1. In rolls. The weight of each of them is 50 kg, with a width of 1.20 m and a thickness of 0.13 to 0.30 mm. To maintain the integrity of the canvas when moving the rolls, it is wound on a rigid sleeve. Its inner diameter is 7.6 cm.
  2. In the sheets. Their width is from 20 to 80 cm, and the length is 1.05-1.25 m.

Isoflex 191 0.15 rolled is more in demand, since it is easier to transport and store: it takes up less space and is easier to move.

Material can be stored for about a year, as evidenced by the manufacturer's warranty. But this is provided that the package was not broken during delivery and unloading. In addition, in the storage place must be provided with all the conditions necessary for preserving the properties of the material: about 75% - humidity level, temperature not lower than -10 and not higher than + 35 ° . All these requirements are specified in GOST No. 26103.
