Installation of electrical wiring is an important part of the electrification of any modern building. The electric and fire safety of the building depends on how correctly designed and manufactured it is. Installation of electrical wiring in a wooden house must be carried out taking into account a number of requirements and rules for fire safety. All of them will be considered below.
Safe wiring in a wooden house
Installation of wiring in wooden buildings is carried out according to special rules that were developed taking into account the fact that wooden houses should be
more reliably protected from fires, as they are more susceptible to this disaster. It follows that open wiring in a wooden house is the best option for installation. The wires themselves should consist only of copper (aluminum is strictly prohibited), and the wiring should be "packed" in metal tubes that are mounted along the walls.
Correct installation of electricians in a wooden house involves the use of cables (for example, NYM) only with non-combustible insulation. If the insulation is flammable, then the cables must also be laid in the corrugated pipe - in special channels in the wall or in the plinth. If the house will use hidden wiring (that is, the cables will run behind the walls), then the distance between it and the wall should be at least one centimeter.
If the installation of electrical wiring in a wooden house is carried out behind the wall, it is very important to block access to the wiring of rodents. For this cable should be placed in metal tubes.
Wiring in a wooden house: an example
Consider a typical example of flush-mounted wiring. If the wires will be laid in the baseboard or some other facing element, all cables must be enclosed in metal pipes.
Next, you need to plan the outputs of points with electricity and switches. You need to know the exact number, because it is very hard work to shift the entire wiring anew. All wires must be earthed. The implementation of grounding is a mandatory process, this will help to avoid electrical shock during breakdown of the sheath of one of the cables.
Electrical wiring in a wooden house is usually done by laying cables in stainless steel tubes or in non-flammable corrugated hoses. For these purposes, simple PVC pipes are also excellent. When using steel tubes, painting the latter is mandatory.
When laying corrugated or metal pipes, it is impractical to mount them in a precisely horizontal position. It is better to place it at a small angle: so condensate (in case it appears) will not accumulate on the wiring.
Installation of electrical wiring in a wooden house can also be carried out using special plastic boxes, but this slightly affects the aesthetics of the room. However, there are designs that mimic wood, however, they can have a high price.
According to many experts, the internal cabling is safer than the external, as it excludes the possibility of human contact with the wiring.
