Asphalt concrete is prepared from a special composition with the correct proportions of special components: sand, mineral powder, gravel of various sizes, as well as a certain bitumen intended for roads. Asphalt mixtures are used to equip the base and cover the roadway in almost any conditions. You can consider these materials in more detail.
Asphalt mixtures are divided into hot and cold according to the principle of laying. The first are the most famous today and are actively used. Their installation is carried out at a temperature of 140-170
degrees Celsius. Hot asphalt
mix is delivered in a special technique. It saves the temperature of the composition. When laying is completed, compaction is carried out using asphalt rollers. After the composition hardens, a coating is obtained that has high quality.

Mixtures are prepared using viscous bitumen. The mixture should be used immediately after preparation, it should not be allowed to cool. When laying, the temperature of the asphalt should be 120 degrees or more. This technology is used for any work and in almost all latitudes. There are minor features. The upper layers of coatings are laid with the obligatory use of crushed stone, the fractionality of which is 20-40 millimeters, which affects the total cost of the work. Hot asphalt mixtures are the most hardy at the moment, which can be achieved through the use of bitumen. This method has another very important advantage - the discovery of movement in the treated area is possible immediately after the mixture has cooled to ambient temperature, that is, it takes only a few hours. This period is enough for the mixture to pass the forming phase, after which it is completely ready for operation.

If the asphalt mixes are selected as the material for the repair work on the road surface, then their composition must be selected as close as possible to the composition being repaired. With a defect depth of up to five centimeters, laying in one layer is performed, and with a larger size of potholes, a pair of layers should be used. The surfaces of small areas need to be compacted using pneumatic equipment, and more extensive ones using a vibratory roller.
Different types of asphalt mixtures are used for arranging airfield and road surfaces, hydraulic structures, floors and flat roofs. The purchase of such materials should be made at enterprises working with strict observance of all technological features of their manufacture, and the cost will be optimal. It is clear that a fine-grained asphalt mix will cost more, as it is a better product designed for arranging very smooth surfaces. In general, the cost of such a building material depends on many factors, among which the quality of the components, equipment and technologies used during the work, as well as a number of other factors, are very important.
