How often does it happen that suddenly, quite unexpectedly, we get an invitation to somewhere we really want to go, but, alas, nothing ... And so we want to look extravagant! Maybe there is some cut and a successful pattern of a Greek dress, for example? Then you can create yourself a unique, trendy outfit!
Greek dress without needles and scissors
Possessing imagination and a desire to make a vivid impression with its originality, you can create a unique image, almost without picking up scissors and a needle. In fact, the pattern of the Greek dress can look like a regular rectangle with a width equal to the length of the future robe, and a length of about three meters. The lady simply drapes into a piece of fabric, securing it with beautiful brooches on her shoulders - that’s a luxurious extravagant outfit! Of course, it is more appropriate on the beach, because when the wind blows, there is a chance that the robe will open, exposing the body. But you can put down a small dress "in a sliver", which for one reason or another, the charming lady does not want to wear at a party. Then the question that the outfit may inappropriately open up, disappears. And if a piece of fabric of sufficient width, then this robe turns into a real luxurious ball gown from the 18-19 centuries, especially if the texture of the material itself matches the style.
Greek dress in one seam
But you can create an outfit in 15 minutes by making just one seam. True, then some sewing skill will be required. The pattern of the Greek dress in one seam is also quite simple - it's still the same rectangle. Folding it across, you need to not sew the edge to the end, leaving a cut of the required depth. This seam must be placed in the middle of the resulting “stocking”. Then, in the upper part, where the cut is located, “shoulders” are outlined, which are caught with pins, brooches or sewn 1-2 cm. The dress is almost ready. It remains to process the bottom of the product and overcast the edges. The corners around the cutout formed at the seam can be bent inward.
The dress will be beautifully draped under the arms and at the neck. Using a long belt, you need to wrap your waist several times, spreading evenly the folds of the dress. And you can use a wide belt or even two belts of medium width, one located immediately below the chest, and the second is slightly lower.
Elegant tunic with a neckline
This option is also sewn very quickly, and looks luxurious due to chic drapery and simply bewitching neckline. The section should be taken in two lengths of the dress. The cut will be the main thing here - it is he who adorns the entire Greek dress. The pattern is complicated by an I-shaped notch located strictly in the middle of the width of a piece of fabric. The length “I” is the depth of the cut, its upper point lies strictly in the middle of the length of the segment, and the lower one can be located under the chest or even on the belt. Having carefully processed the cut, the lady puts on the dress, grabbing the fabric near the top of the neckline with brooches. By the way, the tunic differs from the classical Greek dress only in length - it is much shorter. But the pattern of the Greek dress in both cases remains the same.
The basic rules for creating luxurious outfits
Before making a chic evening gown, you should know how to sew dresses so that later “it would not be excruciatingly painful” from shame. The most important thing is to carefully process all the seams so that untidy "terry" does not work out. If possible, it is better to overlay or hem the edges of the fabric, similar to how to tuck the bottom of the dress. But in an extreme case, you can process some types of fabric in a hot way - fire. The latter method requires special care and skills, otherwise you can make a hole in the fabric or even make a fire in the house.
