Every happy owner of a country house knows that not a single summer house can do without a toilet, which is traditionally represented by a small wooden structure in the courtyard. Before proceeding to the direct construction, it is necessary to carefully approach the choice of location for this facility.
The country toilet should be located in a secluded place, without violating the appearance of the site, but it should not be located too far from the house. According to sanitary and hygienic standards, it is necessary that the country toilet should be located at a distance from any source of water of at least 30 meters. That is why the question of how to make a country toilet and at the same time not spoil the water for yourself and your neighbors remains rather critical.
In order to slightly ease the process of choosing the most suitable place, you can do the following:
1. First you need to draw a plan of your site and adjacent sites.
2. Mark on the plan the location of neighboring wells or wells, as well as existing toilets.
3. Calculate according to the plan the places on your site on which the country toilet can be located. Choose the most secluded of them.
4. A particularly important point. You must immediately take a receipt from each neighbor. It should indicate that they do not mind building your toilet.
5. Next, select the design of the country toilet and make a list of the necessary materials.
According to the materials that were used, country toilets are divided into stone (made of brick or foam blocks), plank toilets (from wooden boards and bars), as well as frame ones. The foundation must be built under any toilet, except for a boardwalk. Therefore, the structure of wooden boards is considered cheaper and simpler.
In any country toilet, the
cesspool is the most important part
. Its volume should be designed for 60 liters per 1 person with a permanent residence for three months. However, simply digging a larger barrel is not enough. It is required to think over the system for its cleaning, as well as to ensure its absolute tightness. Otherwise, if aquifer contamination occurs, you will be held criminally liable. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange in advance a so-called
clay castle around the cesspool, the thickness of which should be 15-30 cm.
So, all the preparatory work has been carried out and theoretical issues have been considered. We build a country toilet!
As mentioned earlier, it is easiest to build the required structure from wood. We will consider this option.
First you need to prepare dry wood bars with a section of 40 × 40 or 50 × 50 mm. It is also required to purchase material that will be lined with a country toilet. It can be a cut board, lining or a block house.
To cover the roof , slate, ondulin or soft roof is used. To begin with, we place a cesspool. A lower wooden frame is built above it, under which the roofing material is laid.
We line the floor with dry boards using self-tapping screws.
Next, the frame of the walls and ceiling is assembled. Above the cesspool we make a place for sitting, the so-called pedestal 45 cm high.
Sheathe the frame with prepared material. We are roofing. We mount the door, handles and toilet seat.
