Reviews
Basov Nikolay is a controversial writer. On the one hand, fans of classic science fiction like his books: the narrative is conducted sequentially, logically, without a thousand necessary and unnecessary events on each page. And because of this, novels may seem boring, even boring to the modern reader: they lack what is now commonly called the word "action".
There are also other shortcomings. For example, the novel âGame of Magicâ was criticized for its poor study of the world, cardboard-template characters and flaws in the style. Moreover, even the fans of the author, who fell in love with Basov for the series about Lotara, remained dissatisfied.
However, there is no need to diligently criticize. Basov Nikolai writes more for older adolescents, moreover, male adolescents. So to an intelligent lady at an elegant age, the authorâs novels may not seem too suitable for reading. While her grandchildren may be in complete delight.
The authorâs books are hardly worth reading to women - this is a typical heroic fiction about brutal and courageous heroes, fighters with global evil and special cases of injustice, and about what path you need to go to become this very hero.
In general, as already said, for boys aged 14-16 these books would be the right choice. But more mature and sophisticated readers will immediately find thousands of flaws, because of which you can quit reading these very books: there are many works in the same genre, but written more talentedly, character characters and recognizability of the storyline, inconsistency between the various parts of the narrative and real facts, primitiveness of the main idea, etc.
But if the reader clearly understands what to expect from such a book and he wants to read something from the classic âcorrectâ heroic fiction, where a lone hero saves everyone and everything, then Nikolai Basovâs books are one of the best options.
