In βThe Witcher 2β there are many additional quests, for which the player receives not only useful items, gold, but also reveals interesting stories of characters that can not be found during the passage of the storyline. This article provides information on how to complete the Odrin quest in The Witcher 2.
Task description
The essence of the quest is to find a soldier who loves to drink and constantly disappears at the crucial moment. This task is closely intertwined with the main storyline. Also, with a certain development of events, you can fail the quest by choosing a different path.
Audrin in "The Witcher 2" is a hopeless drunkard, a soldier of the Kaedwen army. During the taking of the task, it will not be possible to get acquainted with the hero himself, since he was lost. To do this, you will first have to follow the trail and find the drunkard. The quest is taken in a kaedwen camp near three drunken soldiers. From far away, Geralt can hear three drunken voices that earnestly call some kind of Audrin. You need to approach them, start a conversation, after which the mission is activated.
What is the essence of the assignment?
Soldiers say that Odrina is wanted by the commander in chief. Therefore, they ask the witcher to quickly find a soldier and bring him back to the camp. In the quest journal you can read more about the description of the story from the words of Buttercup. You need to search the surroundings of the camp and find a person.
Where to look for Audrin in The Witcher 2?
First you need to exit through the western gate that leads to the river bank. After that, be sure to examine all the evidence that will come across your way. To do this, use the highlighting of important objects and activities, which is turned on by default on the X key. Gradually, Geralt will reach the entrance to the cave, where the desired hero is lying around. As it becomes clear, Audrin is inadequate, so he must be brought to the camp and his eyes fixed on him.
Camp road
If the road to the gate passes without incident, then at the border you will be met by guards. You will have three possible answers, two of which will lead to success, and the third to failure of the task.
The first option is bribery. You can pay the guards a small amount, after which they will not get into their own business and continue to patrol the neighborhood of the camp.
The second option is the phrase that Geralt leads the captive for interrogation. Not all soldiers know each other in person, so no one will recognize Odrina in The Witcher 2, especially when drunk. If you say that you are leading a captive, the guards will let you into the camp.
The third option is to say that you caught an important witness. After that, the guards will decide that he must be escorted to the authorities with security, so the quest will fail. However, you do not have to start the task all over again, because the storyline does not end there - you still have other ways to get important information.
If you decide not to hand over the soldier to the guards, then go to the dining room. Along the way, Audrin will constantly fall and stumble. On the way you will meet his drinking companions, whom it is advisable to take with you. Having gathered the entire squad of drunkards, you must enter the dining room - there begins the final dialogue, where Audrin in "The Witcher 2" will tell you the details of the main quest.
Final dialogue
Characters will offer a drink with them. To find out the details of the main case, you have to accept the offer. During the dialogue, you must choose one of two options: "People are afraid of Henselt" or "I need some information." All other branches of the dialogue will lead to the failure of the task, as a result of which the soldiers will go about their business, and you will have to go through the game in a different way.
In The Witcher 3
During the passage of "The Witcher 2" Audrin can be found. However, this character can be seen in the next part of the series.
Firstly, on many message boards you will find records that mention the adventures of a drunkard and his antics. Secondly, you can find Audrin in person. To do this, you need to find a bottom - a dealer in alchemical ingredients, to the left of which is a shack. An empty merchant stands by the building, and an old acquaintance is lying on the pier near the house. As at the time of the last meeting, the former soldier is completely drunk and does not respond to Geralt.
Now you know where to look for Audrin in The Witcher 2 and in the third part of the game. Probably, the developers wanted to add a task with him in The Witcher 3, but in the end they decided to cut out this content.
