Black Magic is a well-known variety of hybrid tea roses. The name of the variety is translated into Russian as "black magic". This garden beauty was bred in the famous German nursery Rosen Tantau in 1995.
Rose Black Magic: Flower Features
The unusual name of this plant predetermined the color of the petals: they have a rich dark red, burgundy or dark cherry velvety hue at the beginning of flowering, but in the last flowering period the variety acquires a dark plum, close to black tint. It is worth noting that, despite the tremendous efforts of all breeders, they still have not been able to develop a variety with a really black bud. But with proper lighting, the Black Magic rose is almost black.
Black magic like cut roses
This variety was originally selected as a cut rose. Most of the ladies had the pleasure of holding bouquets of these lovely flowers in their hands, as they are the best-selling cut flowers in all regions, even in the Netherlands in the domestic market. The inflorescences are of medium size, the blooming Black Magic rose opens in diameter by almost 12-14 cm, thanks to the petals turned down, they look especially elegant. The buds have a delicate, unobtrusive aroma. The stalk is long (up to 90 cm) and strong, with beautiful glossy foliage, a deep dark green hue, rarely with reddish veins along the edges. This princess is not prickly at all, has a moderate amount of medium-sized thorns. Cut flowers can stand in a vase for up to two weeks.
Black magic like garden roses
The Black Magic rose variety was bred as a cut, but it has all the positive qualities of a garden. These beauties are often grown in flower beds and flower beds in regions with a dry climate and high air temperature, including California, Australia and South Africa. In greenhouses and gardens, the bushes look very attractive. They are tall, almost meter, but upright and compact, richly covered in color. Roses Black Magic do not behave royally, they are extremely unpretentious, resistant to rain, cold snap and fungal diseases, but they blossom best and shine in all their glory only in well-lit flower beds and areas.

Rosa Black Magic is an ingenious variety, and it has repeatedly won admiration and recognition not only among gardeners and buyers, but also among professionals. So, in 2000, experts from the Baden-Baden Golden Rose contest awarded Black Magic the first place in the Golden Rose nomination.
