The Caucasus is magnificent in any part of its territory. One of the pearls of this amazingly beautiful region is the Tseyskoe gorge. "Tsey" is equipped with two cable cars and lifts (5 pieces). For skiers there are 7 prepared tracks of the most diverse difficulty levels, the length of which reaches 3 kilometers. Heights have a difference of up to 920 meters.
Descent equipment can be rented at rental points. Beginners can use the services of experienced professional instructors. There are hotels of various options for comfort and value.
Climate features
Ski resort "Tsey" is located in a wonderful place. The climate here is mountainous, characterized by rather low temperatures and significant rainfall. In the gorge most of the winter lies dry sparkling crystalline snow, the thickness of which reaches 1.5 m. Moreover, as you move further deeper into the gorge and higher, the thickness of the cover increases (up to 3-4 meters).
Like all of North Ossetia, the Tsey ski resort has comfortable climate conditions for life. Almost all year round, this region is spoiled by surprisingly warm weather. Winter temperatures average 5.2 degrees below zero Celsius. Severe frosts are quite rare here, especially in the Tsey gorge. The winds are warm and dry.
For comparison, let’s imagine the average annual number of hours with a sunny period of time in different areas: “Tsey” - 2256 hours, Davos in Switzerland - 1804 hours, Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi - 1675 hours.
Due to the large difference in the absolute heights of some sections of the gorge, vertical zoning of the climate is created. For example, one day at the very entrance to the Tsey Gorge (altitude 1300 m above sea level) there may be warm summer weather, while on the peaks (more than 4000 m) snow may fall. Well-developed infrastructure of the resort, which allows you to fully relax. There are several comfortable hotels in the valley, a mountain climbing camp with accommodation in cottages and the Vertical Hotel. Almost all hotels for vacationers have: a paintball club (in the "Vertical"), dance disco clubs, swimming pools and saunas. Horse lovers have the opportunity to ride horses.
Of course, in general, the Tsey ski resort does not belong to the category of extreme resorts. Skating is mostly calm, but there are great opportunities for freeriders.
