So, according to the current legislation in Russia, all children under the age of 12 years or height of 135 cm can drive in cars only in devices designed for this purpose called “car seats”. Devices of group 0+ are car cradles. They are intended for babies whose weight has not yet reached 13 kg, and age - 1.5 years. However, the transportation of infants in a car must be safe first of all, and this cradle cannot fully provide. They can guarantee only comfort. So if there is no real need, you should not carry the baby in the car until six months.
If the car seat is marked "0-1", be aware that it is designed for babies from birth to 4 years, the maximum allowable weight is 18 kg. This is a very convenient device, which is also distinguished by functionality. However, to buy such a device, you will have to run around the shops - not every manufacturer of car seats produces such models. The kit necessarily includes carrying for newborns. By the way, if you purchase a car seat and a stroller of the same company, then it is highly likely that you can use this removable device with both the first and second devices.
Group 1 models are designed for children from 1 year to 4 years, whose weight has not reached 18 kg, but exceeds the figure of 9 kg. In such a device, the position of the belts must be regulated and a reclining position is provided so that the child can sleep comfortably.
Group 1-2 includes devices for children from one to seven years old. The maximum weight is 25 kg. Such car seats should be installed in two or three positions, have a headrest that is adjustable in height.
Group 1-3 models are intended for children from a year to 10 years. The difference from the previous type of car seats is that such a device can be solid or collapsible. In the latter case, removing the back, you can get a booster. The rules for transporting a child in a car allow you to use the seat without a backrest, if the baby is already 3 years old, but not yet 10. Such devices are the so-called “boosters”. For greater reliability, choose devices equipped with a belt stop.
