The location of this structure is very good, so getting to it by public transport will not be difficult. Mode of operation
The doors of the structure are open from 8:30 to 17:00, but the reception of citizens is carried out at certain hours, depending on the type of treatment. Moreover, citizens of the Russian Federation are accepted at one time, and citizens of Latvia at another time. If a person from the Russian Federation plans to apply for a visa, then he needs to contact the consular department from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00. At the same time, you should not forget about the appointment, otherwise your documents will simply not be accepted.
On the same days and at the same time, there is a reception of citizens who are applying for a residence permit. When your documents are ready, they can be collected only from 15:00 to 15:30. If you arrive at a different time, you will be denied the issuance of documents, so you should come precisely at that time. Citizens of Latvia also use the services of the consular department, their reception is conducted on weekdays from 9 to 11 in the morning.
Note! The embassy lives according to the laws of Latvia, so holidays here are different from Russian. Therefore, do not be surprised if there is no holiday in Russia, and the embassy will be closed on a weekday, for sure there is a state holiday in this country today. Cost and terms of consideration of documents
According to the law, a visa is issued free of charge, but a consular fee must be paid - a fee for considering documents. Therefore, it should be understood that in case of refusal to issue a visa, funds will not be returned.
To obtain a Schengen visa, each applicant must pay a fee of 35 euros (2600 rubles). After paying for the collection and filing of documents, a person has to wait for an answer about 10 working days. The consulate reserves the right to make a decision within 30 days, but, as a rule, this only happens when the wrong documents were submitted or the applicant found violations in the visa regime.
The cost of the consular fee for a national visa is from 61 to 85 euros (4500 - 6400 rubles). The price varies depending on the type of entry document: single entry, double entry or multiple entry visa. The time for consideration of documents in this case is up to 60 days. Such a long process of issuing a visa is due to the fact that it examines a large number of different documents, requests are made to various structures of Latvia and much more.
A Schengen visa can also be obtained in an accelerated mode, the issuance of ready documents is carried out within three days. For this, the applicant must pay a consular fee of 70 euros (5250 rubles). A written petition should also be written describing the good reason for such urgency.
