Simplicity

The hand made of the simplest materials that we used to use in ordinary life and which are much easier to get is much more appreciated. After all, not all people have access to shops for needlework, scrapbooking, etc., where stencils, forms, blanks and accessories are sold. In addition, it is always nice to recycle or reuse household items or clothes, giving them a second life. Therefore, in this article you can learn how to make a fan out of forks (disposable, plastic). It can be made for yourself or as a gift to a friend, mom or grandmother, complementing the basic ideas with your own and introducing innovations. And for our fan, we need 15-20 disposable plastic forks, ribbons and lace to decorate suitable colors, 2-3 cm wide, hard cardboard or an unnecessary CD, hot glue or “Moment”.

Training

making fans from disposable forks
A fan of disposable forks, MK (master class) for the manufacture of which is described in this article, is intended to be very gentle, feminine, cute and has a more decorative purpose than a "cooling" purpose. However, such a craft is an indispensable thing as an element of a fancy dress, a nice gift for mom or grandmother, as well as a great way to spend time and create creative taste and skills. In addition, the manufacture of a fan from disposable forks will take you a maximum of an hour, a minimum of 15 minutes, when the technology is already well developed. So, for starters, we make blanks: first, we need two identical semicircles, they can be made by cutting the disk in half or cutting it out of cardboard. Instead of a stencil, you can use a large protractor or simply circle the outline of the cup. The radius of the semicircle should be about 5-6 cm, but it can vary. Further, using hot glue, it is necessary to glue evenly around the circumference of the fork, so that their ends with cloves are as tight as possible to each other. Then, so that our fan of disposable forks looks neat, we glue the same semicircle on the other side of the fork handles. Now we have a blank, we can only decorate it.

Start decorating

For decor, first we take a strip of delicate lace 2-3 cm wide and, passing it between the cloves (you can through one or two), fill the entire outer part of the circle, not forgetting to constantly fix it on the forks with glue. Next, we cover the cardboard with ribbons: we glue the strips on it and cut off the excess so that everything is neat and the paper itself is not visible. This is the advantage of cardboard for making a fan, because you really can’t attach anything to the disk: it is too smooth and slippery. You can also simply glue a semicircle of colored paper onto the base: it’s your business, anyway we will still decorate it on top.

The final stage

Now we cut small decor elements from another lace: flowers, leaves - anything. Also, if you know how, you can make roses out of ribbons or just small bows, because a fan of disposable forks is entirely at the mercy of your creative imagination. All this must be glued on the periphery, on the “head” of the plug, that is, the part between the cloves and the handle. Also, if you want to fill the remaining space, from the center to the edge of the circle, you can, like the first stage of the decor, thread colored ribbons or lace between the forks, thereby hiding the source material from the eyes. It will be very beautiful if you attach a bow from a wide ribbon to the very center (cardboard), leaving its ends long or making larger roses and bows for it. And if you make such a fan from disposable forks, not one, but two or even three, then you can decorate your room with them.
