Many people know an extensive series of books about Nancy Drew, a little girl who is also a detective. These children's books have won the minds of many children around the planet, they have been published since the thirties of the last century and are relevant to this day. The series ended in 2003. But her success was so phenomenal that it was decided to resume it in 2006. And books from the new series, telling about the slightly matured Nancy and her friends, are still published. However, Nancy is not only famous for this - there is another series, this time a game. Back in 1998, the first computer game with Nancy Drew, called "Secrets Can Kill," was released. From the very beginning, these projects were conceived as simple adventure quests so that young children can relive the stories of their beloved heroine not only in books, but also at the computer. And now, after 16 years, the jubilee, thirtieth game of the series, called "Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion," was released. We will consider its passage further.
Getting to know the game

If this is your first time encountering a project in this series, you may be interested in some aspects. If you have experience playing standard point'n'click quests, it will be much easier for you to get comfortable, as the principle is exactly the same. In "Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion", the passage is carried out using a computer mouse, which you will need to both move the main character and interact with objects. Clicking on the terrain where the hero can go will lead to his movement. If you hover over an object that you can interact with, it will change its appearance. If it takes the form of a magnifying glass, then you can take a closer look at the subject to understand what to do next. If it turns into a dialogue cloud, it means that you hover over another character with whom you can communicate and at the same time learn something useful for passing the game. But the most important type of cursor is the hand. He has several types at once. If this is just a hand, then you can take the item that the pointer is pointing at. In the event that the hand accompanies the briefcase, you can pick up the item and put it in your inventory. Well, if instead of a portfolio there is a gear, then the object can be put into action, used. That's all the simple rules of the game in “Nancy Drew: Broken Medallion.” The passage will consist of traveling to different locations, exploring the surroundings, finding objects and using them, and most importantly, solving puzzles.
The first part of the medallion: locations

The goal of the game is to collect the elements of a split medallion. There are five pieces in total, so there are as many chapters in the game itself. In Nancy Drew: The Shattered Medallion, each chapter can take you quite a while to complete. But do not rush - it is better to get as much pleasure from the process as possible, because this is the essence of computer games. If you take the first chapter, then here you have to travel a lot to various locations. You will begin on the central square of the city, after which you will cross to the lake with the interesting name Dautful Sound (Doubtful Sound), then you will return to the square where you will visit the Palace of Riddles. Then you have to visit the team camp, on the staff site, move from one location to another several times, and most importantly - get to the Mossburn Falls, where the first chapter will end, since the first element of the medallion will be found there. It is worth considering that in "Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion" the passage in Russian will differ from the original - the game has a large number of verbal puzzles that look different in different languages.
The first part of the medallion: puzzles

It makes no sense to describe all the movements and objects that you have to find, since the game is absolutely linear, and you will not be able to miss this or that important object. But puzzles are what you should pay attention to. As mentioned above, in “Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion,” the passage in Russian must be considered separately from other languages, like any other example. Of course, this does not apply to absolutely all tasks. For example, in the first puzzle in the central square where you start the game, you need to line up the rails in the right order to get a note located on the train. And now the second major task will confront you with letters and words. In the Palace of Riddles you will need to find the differences between the four pictures, with the help of which you will receive a set of letters that will need to be folded into a specific word. It is this word that will become the password giving you access to the main location of the chapter - the waterfall. The next difficult task is to deactivate surveillance cameras, here you just have to line up the points in the desired sequence. So in this case it doesn’t matter what language will be played in Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion. The Russian version, however, will be optimal, since you still have to solve the remaining text tasks.
The second part of the medallion: locations
This time you do not have to scout for new locations. All of them migrated from the first chapter straight to the second. But this opens up new places that you can visit there, so the scenery will still be varied, and you will not get bored, moving on the plot of "Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion." Walkthrough, the Russian version of which will be much more useful to you for obvious reasons, will throw you in places like Lake Wakatipu or the shepherd. And there you have to continue to solve difficult puzzles. With this you will help in the “Nancy Drew: Broken Medallion” walkthrough.
The second part of the medallion: puzzles

The first task is not the most difficult - you need to arrange the plants in five vases. You can use the information on the vases themselves, but no one bothers you to apply the selection method. True, he usually gets much less pleasure in quest projects, including in Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion. Passing the game implies that you remember the information that you collect while traveling around the world, and then use it to solve the tasks assigned to you. For example, when you need to hack a chest in a producer’s tent, you need information to get the four-digit code. But the most interesting mystery in this chapter is the letter grid. Everyone knows what it is: you are offered a grid in which a letter is written in each cell. And from them you need to collect words to solve the problem. This is needed to get the password for the hatch, that is, to go through the storyline. Basically, in Nancy Drew: The Shattered Medallion, all tasks are important. And you cannot miss a single one of them, since they are all needed to complete the game.
The third part of the medallion: locations
As in the previous chapter, here you will travel to already familiar locations. But, again, “Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion” will not disappoint you, as along the way you will meet interesting places, buildings and objects. In this chapter, the waterfall will again be a key arena, and you will often have to change locations. Most often, you will need to visit the team camp and Dautful Sound Lake.
The third part of the medallion: puzzles
The very first riddle in this chapter will already be familiar to you from what you saw before - this is how the passage in the game "Nancy Drew: Broken Medallion" develops. The cylinders may seem very complicated, but you just need to use the available information, namely the note that you found on the road. You can immediately set the desired order of numbers in the cylinders, and the backpack, which was locked with this combination lock, will open. But the most interesting mystery in this chapter is an unusual charade. You find a sheet of paper on which are colored arrows. How to collect a full-fledged offer from this? It is very simple if you recall the drawing tablet that you found earlier - there is a transcript on the right side of the sheet of paper. The arrows can be of three colors and indicate in four directions, that is, you will have twelve letters. This is enough to solve the riddle and move on. But the most impressive moment is the work with the bathyscaphe: both the puzzle that needs to be assembled in order to refuel the floating means, and the task consisting of moving objects using the metal claw of the bathyscaphe. Here in "Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion" the passage in English is quite acceptable, but just remember that the previous task was based on letters and words, and you will immediately realize that it is better to stick to one guide - Russian. But where language will not matter to you is in a full-fledged water contest. Here is such a varied passage in the game "Nancy Drew: Broken Medallion". Kayaking is a contest where the point is not how quickly you get to the finish line, but how correctly you will control your swimming means.

The fourth part of the medallion: locations
If the previous chapters did not open new locations, then the fourth part of the game will give you access to a new region. This will happen after you win the kayak race. You will be given a password, which will make the location of Cromwell accessible. It is she who will be the key in this chapter.
The fourth part of the medallion: puzzles
In the fourth part, you will find both simple and familiar tasks, and something unusual. For example, in a new location, Cromwell will immediately offer you to flush the pipe. And you can’t do it. First, you will need to play the good old pipeline, connecting parts of the pipes into one system. But at the waterfall you have to play an exciting and original game that combines sea battle and Sudoku elements. It is difficult to imagine such a mixture, but you will get great pleasure from its solution. You can, of course, create a passage in the pictures for Nancy Drew: The Broken Medallion, but this can completely destroy the impressions and emotions of passing the game. So it’s better to try everything on your own, and to access a text guide only if something doesn’t work out for you at all.
The fifth part of the medallion: locations
There will be no new locations in the game. You will only need to win the competition in the team camp, and also proceed to the cave, where your journey will end. You will find the last element of the medallion and collect it again. But for this you need to go through a couple more tests.
The fifth part of the medallion: riddles
So, you need to win the competition in order to get the opportunity to get the last element of the medallion. To do this, you need to quickly navigate the most difficult task in the game. You need to move containers for speed, into which chips of different colors will fall. Naturally, you need to arrange them in the correct order. In this case, the game takes place in five stages, and at each of them one capacity is added. Well, in the cave, the most important thing is the reunion of the medallion. It will occur using a map of the starry sky and runes, which you can find on the pages of comics.
