Entrance doors are designed to protect the premises from unauthorized entry by unauthorized persons. Another purpose is insulation and soundproofing of the room. Given these requirements, today the industry offers a wide range of insulated metal entrance doors.
Types of doors
Street doors can be divided into three groups:
- Special designs. This category includes doors to which all characteristics apply: booking, insulation, soundproofing, fire safety.
- Insulated metal entrance doors with bars. Most often used indoors, but thanks to insulation it is quite possible to install as external doors.
- Doors are technical. This type of door does not have a beautiful design, but they have great strength and increased security. They are characterized by simplified installation and a fairly low price.
Advanced Door Features
It is worth focusing on the expanded capabilities of the entrance metal doors for the house and insulated, which, perhaps, is not known to everyone. By the method of discovery, they are:
- Outdoor opening.
- Inner opening.
Everything is simple here: the outer doors open outward, the inner doors inward.
According to the quality of the opposition to hacking, there can be:
- First class. Such doors do not have sufficient strength. Easy to crack with a simple tool at hand. More often used as a double door, in the presence of another, more strong.
- Second class. Hacking of such doors is possible only with a special tool and sufficient experience of the cracker. Mostly installed in rooms where there are no valuable items, there is no need for strict preservation of the contents.
- Third grade. This is the most widely used type of door. Open this one is available only to a professional who has extensive experience and has a complete set of tools for hacking and opening.
- Fourth grade. Insulated metal doors of this class combine all the characteristics described above. Such components are fireproof and bulletproof. The price of such designs is quite high.
Types of designs
By the presence of the main constituent elements of the product are divided into three groups:
- With one metal sheet.
- With two sheets.
- Combined. They include two outer and one inner sheet.
The design of combined doors has the highest strength and reliability of all elements: locks, hinges. The inner metal sheet acts as stiffeners, providing additional strengthening of the product. It also protects the castle from breaking. The disadvantage is the fact that when it becomes necessary to repair the castle, you have to make hatches to access it, and this leads to a violation of the protection functions of the outer sheet.
Frame structure
According to the structure of the frame, there are two types:
- Closed steel loop.
- Open circuit p-shaped.
Closed-circuit insulated metal doors are much stronger and more reliable. They do not undergo deformation caused by temperature changes. But they have a lot of weight.
Doors with an open circuit can be classified as budget ones, they are more affordable in the acquisition and installation. With the use of metal thinner than 5 mm, they can deform under temperature fluctuations and cause a malfunction of the product.
Decor of metal products
For the inner lining of metal surfaces are used:
- laminate panels;
- patterned pads made of metal and polymer;
- sheet pile lamellas imitating a natural tree.
For entrance doors of metal, insulated, soundproofing, such heaters are used:
- cellular cardboard;
- mineral wool or stone;
- polyurethane.
Doors with cardboard insulation
Doors from this category are budget ones. The structure of this insulation is able to partially fulfill the functions of heat conservation and sound insulation. For this reason, do not apply in the private sector. Find their application in the entrances when the front door is intended for the apartment.
Designs using polyurethane, stone and mineral wool as insulation have much better insulation and soundproofing qualities. And they are, respectively, more expensive than analogues with cardboard insulation.
Doors with thermal break
The metal door has several disadvantages in the form of freezing and icing at low temperatures. Thanks to new technologies, such troubles can be forgotten by using metal entrance doors insulated with thermal break.
The advantages of this design are as follows:
- The door leaf is made of 2 sheets of steel, isolated from each other by materials with reduced thermal conductivity. As such an insulator, polystyrene foam, foil insulator, and foam foam are used. This material prevents the occurrence of a cold bridge between two sheets of iron (thermal break). As a result, the low temperature of the outer sheet is in no way transferred to the inner sheet, which remains warm even at low temperatures.
- A seal is attached around the entire perimeter of the web, preventing the penetration of cold into the slots.
The use of thermal doors has several advantages:
- the possibility of use at fairly low temperatures (up to -50 0 C);
- high degree of strength and anti-vandalism;
- preventing the formation of ice, frost on the inside, which increases the service life;
- noiseless operation;
- a variety of finishes (from budget to exclusive);
- a presentable appearance due to the powder coating of the canvas, as well as resistance to such phenomena as rain, hail;
- increased mechanical strength.
