The city of Lugansk is a rather important object of Ukraine. It is located in the east of the country, near the Russian border. Its pre-war population was more than 400 thousand people. The city of Kharkov is located to the northwest of it - the largest administrative, industrial, scientific and socially significant settlement of Ukraine. Lugansk - Kharkov: distance and transport options
You can overcome the distance between the cities of Lugansk and Kharkov by car or bus. The direct route will be 273 kilometers. If you go by car, then the distance along the highway will be 332 kilometers. In connection with military operations on the territory of Ukraine, the route through Russia has recently been in great demand. In this case, the path will be longer, the distance will be about 800 kilometers. Nevertheless, many people choose this option, since at the moment it is considered the safest route. Unfortunately, due to the tense political situation in the country, passenger trains are not moving through the Lugansk station.
Trains run, but only in suburban traffic. Prior to the outbreak of hostilities, the Kharkov-Lugansk train route passed through Debaltseve, Gorlovka, Makeevka, Sinelnikovo and others. The travel time, depending on the train number, ranged from 10 to 12 hours. Now you can get from one city to another only by road.
Car trip
Travel time by car through the territory of Ukraine will be 5 hours 20 minutes, excluding stops. Given the delays in traffic jams, food and personal needs, you will spend about seven hours on the road. Due to the unstable political situation in the areas through which the highway passes, various force majeure and emergency situations are possible. Be sure to consider all possible circumstances before traveling, because travel time can stretch to an indefinite period. On average, fuel costs will be about 1,200 rubles or 585 hryvnias when traveling by car. If you decide to drive a truck or SUV, then fuel consumption will increase at least twice and will depend on the characteristics of the car.
Bus on the route
Very popular bus ride through Russia. This path is relatively safe and predictable. The route passes through Krasnodon, then the bus crosses the Russian border and moves north through the settlements of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Zavodskaya, Tarasovsky, Gray-Voronets towards Boguchar. From there, the path runs through Pisarevka, Alekseevka, Novy Oskol towards Belgorod. Then the bus crosses the state border and arrives in Kharkov.
Bus seats can be booked in advance by phone numbers of trucking companies. Buses run daily, several flights per day. Tickets can be purchased not only in Lugansk or Kharkov, but also in other settlements of Ukraine. The fare is about 1,500 rubles or 732 hryvnia.
