Sergey Lukyanenko: the best books

The best science fiction writer in Russia, according to millions of readers. Few people can compare with him among his contemporaries, and if he can, as, for example, the same Victor Pelevin or Vladimir Vasiliev, this does not belittle his merits. Rather, we are talking about the fact that equals are on the same level, and not compete with each other.

An author who writes in an adult way about children and with humor about adults. The creator of "Dozors" and the cult "Deeptown." All this is Sergey Lukyanenko. The writer’s books are swept off the shelves even today, when most prefer electronic versions of their favorite works. And fans are tracking the release of new products from the author, knowing for sure that this will be a book worthy of attention.

Sergey Lukyanenko

short biography

It’s good that in Russia there was one less psychiatrist and one more writer. Sergey Lukyanenko studied at the medical institute in the city of Almaty as a therapist. He later specialized as a psychiatrist. But fortunately, a year after studying, he began to work as deputy chief editor in a local science fiction magazine. As the author Sergey Lukyanenko took place in 1988, when his story “Violation” appeared in the magazine. Since 1997, all the works of the writer have been printed, although there is information that some of the early works have never been published.

Sergey Lukyanenko books

Sergey Lukyaneko is married, he lives permanently in Moscow with his wife and three children - Artemy, Daniil and Nadezhda. Keeps pets - a family of Yorkshire terriers.

The writer annually participates in festivals, congresses and conferences dedicated to science fiction, and with enviable regularity becomes the winner of all kinds of awards.

Popular Series

What can Sergey Lukyanenko offer the reader? Books are now being published in series - this prompts time and time again to buy new items with already beloved heroes. But the writer, unlike many other authors, does not produce large series - he usually has 2 to 4 books combined in one topic. The exception is Dozors, there are already 11 of them, but there is a lot of work in collaboration. The writer can be forgiven for this small digression, since all his books are independent, finished works. Even if in the next book the events begin exactly from the same place where they broke off in the previous one, all the same in the last there was a logical ending with seven linked plot threads, and not a rough cut of the test in the middle of an epic battle.

Author Sergey Lukyanenko

Sergey Lukyanenko created many different series, but the Dozors and the Labyrinth of Reflections are considered the best among them. But lovers of good science fiction are also familiar with others: “Work on mistakes”, “Trix”, “Genome”, “Island of Russia”, “Seekers of the sky”, “Stars are cold toys”, “Lord from the planet Earth”, “Line of dreams ".

The best works of Sergey Lukyanenko

Sergey Lukyanenko also wrote several solo novels, as well as many short stories and short stories. Let's talk about those that were remembered by readers:

  1. Spectrum is an amazing book about traveling across different worlds. Seven colors, seven planets and seven versions of one girl, and each perishes in front of the protagonist. But perhaps he still has time ...
  2. “This is not the time for dragons” - a masterpiece co-authored with Nick Perumov, a classic fantasy. I would like to show this book to all graphomaniacs who are trying to write something about the "fellow soldiers."
  3. “Beyond the forest, where there is a vile enemy ...” - this story could be told as a joke if it had not been so sad.
  4. ““ L ”means people” - just read to everyone.

These are the most favorite books, but with Lukyaneko you can read absolutely everything.

Movie

Everyone knows about the adaptation of Dozorov: in 2004, Night Watch came out for hire, and in 2006, Day Watch. Both films were shot by Timur Bekmambetov, and both parts were successful. Few people heard about another film adaptation; it is a question of the Aziris Nuna tape based on a joint work by Yulia Burkin and Sergey Lukyanenko Today, Mom. This is a humorous children's fantasy about the adventures of two brothers in the distant future, which Oleg Compassov tried to recreate on the screen. It turned out not so bad, about 30-40 years ago such a film would have become a hit movie. But for a modern viewer, low-budget films are not of interest, since they lack special effects and expensive decorations.

Lukyanenko Sergey reviews

Sergey Lukyaneko also reports on other possible adaptations, but all of them are at the stage of not even projects, but ideas. This is a common problem for all science fiction writers: in order for the works to play in a new way in film format, serious finances are needed. This is not a woman’s novel, which can be shot in the same kitchen and bedroom, and not a classic detective who needs an old mansion and good actors. In fiction, the wider the scope, the better.

Lukyanenko Sergey: reader reviews on the work of the author

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that all these books were written by one person. And the question is not to volumes, as in Daria Dontsova, but to the nature of the work itself. The style in all novels and stories is similar, it is written equally well, but books evoke completely different feelings. For example, if you recall the “Autumn Visits”, then a dull hopelessness and some kind of disappointment in life slip through the memory.

But one of the last books - "Nedotepa", awakens completely different feelings. One gets the impression that it was written by a very well-read and cheerful young man who, with humor, tried to present a very practical approach to life, which would not harm even a fabulous hero. From the story “Train to Warm Land” I want to cry, hoping that he will never be taken as the basis for the film adaptation.

Perhaps this is the difference between a talented writer and a simple artisan - to evoke strong emotions with his creations.

But at the same time in the piggy bank of the writer there is a classic fantasy with heroes, and space fantasy, and battles in virtual reality.

Someone, perhaps, will not like everything that the author suggested to readers for trial. But it seems that such an assortment is much better than the exploitation of a single hero in an endless series, which many modern writers sin.
