Everyone with a cat lives, sooner or later, thinks about mating. Nature nevertheless requires its own. Both cats and cats become sexually mature by the age of 6–9 months. The behavior is changing: the cat marks the territory, can “adapt” some soft toy; the cat begins to meow, changes its gait (the tail lifts and bends the back), begins to roll on the floor; if you attach a napkin to the eyelet, find a wet spot. One of the main signs of a cat’s readiness for knitting: when stroking the back, it takes its tail away, trembles and goes over its front legs.
But this does not mean that the mating of British cats at this time is permissible. The animal is still too young for this. But it's time to think about finding a partner. This also applies to those who plan to breed Scottish cats. It is better to introduce the cat to the cat in advance, but to knit after the second (third or later) estrus.
If you have a purebred cat or cat, then you need to look for a couple in the club. It also discusses mating cats, all conditions (including calculation), a date is assigned. The arrangement is transferred to paper and sealed with seals and signatures. The document will become insurance against various claims. This can be done at home, in any form.
Two weeks before mating, in order to avoid anomalies, all "chemistry" is excluded (the cat is not bathed and is not treated with sprays), vaccinations are not carried out at this time. Take a certificate signed by a veterinarian, which will later help in resolving disputes if something goes wrong.
The cat must be wormed (7-15 days before mating). Claws are clipped. Mating is carried out on the territory of the cat, not the cat. It is important! Not every (even wise by experience) cat will cover a cat in unfamiliar territory. It is desirable that one of the animals was already untied.
Mating cats, how does it happen?
So, the cat is leafed, vaccinated in advance, without fleas (like the cat) and is ready for mating on the territory of the cat owner. Usually no external intervention is required. But difficult moments do happen. It happens that due to stress the estrus stops, resuming after a few days. Sometimes the owners of the girl are mistaken that the estrus is actually there, they bring the animal to mating, and the cat does not respond. Here you can’t deceive nature in any way. The cat will feel right away.
When the cat is released, the cat immediately begins to sniff its tracks, thus determining the state of the lady. The cat either leaves indifferently (then it makes no sense to continue and it is better to go home until a more suitable time), or shows interest in the guest, reporting with a loud meow about his readiness for courtship, which, in fact, he sets about. If there are no signs of aggression on the part of the cat, you can leave the couple alone, but it is better to check the first mating. The cat begins to flirt with the cat herself, but does not allow it right away. This is a cat's ritual. When approaching, the cat receives a paw in the face (therefore, both claws are trimmed), the cat retreats and begins to "coax" again with its sugary-questioning "Mrr-meow? ..", approaches again and again receives another blow and an expression of dissatisfaction with hiss. How long this lasts, the cat decides. She can harass the cat a day, and can let it go quickly. But if the cat is tired of such a begging, he himself is able to come up, put a slap in the face with his paws, and, grabbing by the scruff of his neck, tie him up without having to wait for permission.
The cat is able to make several mating per day. It depends on his abilities and, of course, the nature of the cat itself. Fulfillment of marital duties will continue until the cat understands that the cat is already satisfied, after which interest in the partner is lost. This is explained by a change in the smell of a mated cat. It happens that the cat remains in the hunt for several more days (the number of mating does not affect the number of kittens).
You can find out if cat breeding was successful and whether your girl became pregnant, you can only in three weeks, not earlier. Nipples turn pink and swell, appetite increases, drowsiness appears. After a month and a half, the kids are already probing. Childbirth occurs from the 64th to the 70th day.
