The owners of suburban areas always want their offspring to look beautiful and well-groomed. For this, they not only master the basics of agriculture and agronomy, but also often get carried away with arranging the garden landscape so that the land not only bears fruit, but also delight the eyes of vacationers. As part of the culture of landscape design, a fashion for garden sculptures came to us. In Europe, according to tradition, they were figures of gnomes, considered to be Skods and garden spirits. In our country, the habit of furnishing a garden with sculptures has acquired its own characteristics - gnomes are rare in the areas of our compatriots. But they are fully inhabited by other inhabitants made of improvised materials: plastic bottles, old dishes, and even automobile tires.

A tire swan, a snail from a tire or a sun from a car ramp - this list goes on and on. In this case, the main thing is to use old, worn-out tires so that the tread pattern does not make the sculpture too rough. How to make a snail out of a tire, for example?
The rubber from which these automotive products are made is well cut with a very sharp knife. If possible, it is best to use an electric jigsaw to cut it . Still, in order to get a snail from a tire, you need to stock up with screws, a screwdriver, a pair of metal rods, gasoline and water-based paint. It is better to choose tires without a cord - a metal mesh inside the rubber, because the process of cutting them can be very time-consuming, it will require many interchangeable blades for a jigsaw, and with a knife it is impossible to do so in general.
Getting started. And the first thing to do is cut the tire to make one continuous strip of rubber. It must be cleaned of dust and trimmed carefully on both sides. Now our "do-it-yourself snail from tires" should get its head. To do this, cut horns from one of the edges of the strip. After that, the entire workpiece should be degreased with gasoline and painted. It is better to do this immediately on the workpiece, and not on the finished craft. So we draw a muzzle under the horns, set the main color of the snail and decorate the future curls of the shell with a pattern.
The next thing a snail from a tire gets is a shell-house. From the opposite side of the head, we begin to twist the rubber into a spiral, but not to the end - we leave a piece under the neck. Fix the sink with short screws. Now our snail from the tire should proudly raise its head - because it is almost ready. To keep the snail's head, twigs of metal must be inserted into the neck. You can replace them with thick wire, but a more rigid structure will be more durable.
Well, the new garden sculpture is ready, it remains to find her a decent place of residence. A snail from a tire will look good on a pebble in the middle of an alpine hill, or peeking coquettishly from under the leaves in a vineyard - its traditional habitat.
