Remembering our childhood, many of us pay attention to what books our parents read to us, in turn, to read to their growing children. Most often these were poems or fairy tales. Today we recall one poet, whose works brought up more than one generation of Soviet children. Unfortunately, the name of Jacob Akim (biography and curious facts of creativity will be presented in this article) is not very familiar to modern parents. We propose to correct this annoying misunderstanding.
Jacob Akim: biography
He was born in the ancient Russian city of Galich on December 15, 1923. The atmosphere in which the child lives has a great influence on the development of his creative abilities. Jacob and his younger brother had a wonderful, creative family. Parents loved music, books, played musical instruments. Flute, guitar, mandolin ... What kind of instruments did not sound in the house where Jacob Akim lived. The family was friendly and fun. Here everyone supported each other and helped as they could. Very often guests came. And then old romances and modern songs sounded. Jacob was very good at playing the button accordion and other instruments.
When the boy was ten years old, the whole family moved to Moscow. Here he graduated from nine classes, Jacob studied very easily. He perfectly succeeded in any business for which he undertook. Most of all I liked to write poetry, participate in amateur performances, play musical instruments.
The Great Patriotic War found the young man in a pioneer camp, where he worked as a counselor. During the bombing of Moscow, his father dies. Having evacuated his mother and younger brother to Ulyanovsk, Yakov Akim, whose biography is not familiar to everyone, entered the school of signalmen. After graduating, he went to the front. He went through the whole war, but the desire to write poetry did not disappear. At first he worked for adults, but after the birth of his daughter, his work became somewhat different. Jacob Akim began to compose fairy tales and write poems for children. Clear and understandable, they were so philosophical that they were read with pleasure by adults. The poet's works have been published in many popular children's newspapers and magazines.
