Visa to the Czech Republic

Until recently, for residents of Russia, a visa to the Czech Republic was not required to enter this country. But since the Czech Republic decided to join the European Union, the rules for foreigners, including Russians, have changed significantly.

Now all foreign citizens need to get a Schengen visa, since the Czech Republic is a member of the European Union and is a signatory to the Schengen agreement.

Visa to the Czech Republic

So, how do you get a Czech visa? Visa to the Czech Republic for citizens of the Russian Federation is as follows. A Russian submits an application for a short-term Schengen Czech visa to the Consulate General of the Czech Republic or to the visa center. A passport with a ready visa is obtained where the application was submitted. If the applicant requires a multiple entry visa for more than two entries into the country, then you need to apply only to the consulate general.

In it, for applying for a visa fee of 35 euros is charged, for an urgent visa you will have to pay twice as much - 70 euros.

If the applicant is not a citizen of the Russian Federation, then for him the issuance of a Schengen visa to the Czech Republic is possible only at the consulate general. The same applies to members of sports, cultural and other delegations.

Schengen visa to the Czech Republic

It is worth noting that applying for a visa to the Czech Republic does not guarantee entry into the country. On the Czech border, as well as in many other countries, you may be asked to show a document confirming that you have booked a hotel room. You may also need medical insurance and confirmation that your account has the required amount of $ 30 for each day of your stay in the Czech Republic. And finally, you must have a paid return ticket or money to purchase it. Of course, all this may not be necessary, but it is better to play it safe and take care of everything in advance.

Please note that in the absence of medical insurance, you may not be allowed to enter the country even when passing through border control.
