The most famous tiger in the world is the Champavat tiger. Unfortunately, she received her fame not for good deeds. Death and destruction is her only merit. There is no animal in the world that can compare with it in the amount of spilled blood.
But what made the tigress take this path? Shouldn't an animal be afraid of man and his weapons? And why were her atrocities so long left without due punishment? So, let’s go back to the past and find out the whole truth about who the Champavatian tigress was.
The birth of a bloody beast
It all started in one of the forests of Nepal at the very beginning of the twentieth century. No one knows exactly where, but in one of the tiger's families a seemingly ordinary female was born. She grew and developed in the same way as all her relatives: she jumped, jumped and hunted the usual game. But once something happened that forever changed her fate.
On one of the hunts (there is no exact information), she broke the upper and lower fangs. Such an injury led to the fact that the Champavatian tigress lost the ability to keep her game in a stranglehold. So, now she will quite often be left without food.
And now, hungry and pissed, she prowls the district in search of easier prey. And her searches are crowned with success - she meets a man. It is not known exactly where this meeting took place, but its outcome is obvious: the man lost to the beast, thereby showing the tiger a new way of hunting.
Nepal-terrifying killer
And, driven by a thirst for blood, the Champavat cannibal tigress begins to look for new hunting grounds. It should be noted that at first she very carefully developed her attack strategy. The tigress did not attack groups of people and always jumped out of an ambush, thereby discouraging the victim.
But over time, she realized that a person could not give her a proper rebuff. And so her methods have become more open. Now she did not restrain herself, tearing everyone in her path. And the more people she killed, the tougher and more often her attacks occurred. According to preliminary estimates, about 200 residents of Nepal died from its claws .
Such a tragedy forced the authorities to take action. They sent a regular army to catch the beast. But they could not cope with the task. The only thing they did was drive her out of their country, to India.
The dark spirit taking the lives of Indians
Expelled from their native lands, the Champavat tigress did not abandon her bloody affair. She moved from one place to another, leaving a trail of human corpses behind her. Her belief in her own impunity led her to hunt directly in the villages.
Most of her atrocities took place in a region called Kumaon. It can be seen that it was here that she decided to equip her house. It should be noted that the Champavat tigress perfectly studied her territory, so that all attempts to kill her ended in failure.
It was extremely important that the locals were very afraid of this beast. They believed that it contained a dark spirit, which means that it cannot be killed with simple weapons. Therefore, all they could do was hide and run away. It was this behavior that led the tigress to kill about 210 people in a few years.
According to the records of those years, the monster walked from village to village, announcing its approach with a formidable roar. She did not hide and did not avoid meeting with groups of people. Seeing a suitable prey, she rushed to her and tore apart, after which she calmly went back to the jungle. But one day everything changed dramatically.
Champavan Tigress Death
It is amazing how in a moment fear can develop into unprecedented determination. A similar thing happened with the inhabitants of one of the Indian villages, when they saw a champavatian tigress before their eyes tore the 16-year-old girl.
The blood in their veins literally boiled, and they were no longer afraid of the wild beast. And he felt it, as he immediately ran away into the forest. But it was too late, the anger of the people was not to restrain. Therefore, without thinking twice, they organized a raid on the formidable cannibal.
And in 1911, the Champavat tigress, who killed 436 people, was hunted down and killed by a certain Jim Corbett. The accuracy and courage of the English hunter were able to stop the bloody terror of the beast, so that people were finally able to sleep peacefully. As for Jim himself, he devoted his whole life to hunting cannibals, which made him a real hero of that time.
